Marie took me to get a fresh eye exam, and we ordered new glasses for me today. New ones should arrive in a week or so. Maybe by then I will be able to type with all fingers as well. The old ones got smashed in the accident.

Terry,

The old glasses or the old fingers?

Bill

Okay, an update on what has happened.
I went last week, and ordered a new pair of glasses, they arrived yesterday, now I can see the keyboard, and how horrible my speeling is. I still am having trouble typing, as one finger doesn't bend or work quite as it should, it is better, but nowhere near perfect.
It turns out the kid does indeed have insurance, although it is the absolute barest minimum allowed by law. $10,000 liability, with a $2,000 deductable. Period. I burned through that the first day in the hospital, and my health insurance is stuck making up the difference. My health insurance only pays 80% of my medical bills, potentially leaving me on the hook for thousands of dollars. My auto insurance, which I have over $150,000 of liability and personal injury, is desparately trying to get out of paying anything. Time and the legal system will tell how this will play out.
I was served with a subpeona Friday, to testify in court against the other driver, for reasons unknown.
I was able to spend part of a night in our bed last night, for the first time since all this started. Only 3 hours or so before my back started spasming, but 3 hours is more than I have been able to do in a month, so I'll take it.

Thanks. At this point all I can do is sit here and grouse about it, and I'm trying to keep that to a minimum, no one needs to hear the "daily black cloud report" . It does seem to help to post about it, I just don't want to whine too loudly, y'all don't need to get depressed along with me.

Hi.
Sorry about not posting, but that's work. Now I know why it's a 4 letter word!!!
Terry is doing very well, he's started getting up and moving around a litle bit more. And I gotta tell you, he is being real good and a great patient. He tries hard with therapy and is going to make a good recovery.
And no I still do not want to trade him in regardless of trade in, salvage title, or blue book value.
He even made valentines day special for me.
Our love and thanks to all who have been there for us, (and still are) and that's everybody on the forum.

Marie

hey terry...

post away!

not a day goes by that i don't think about you and your recovery.

so if posting about it helps, then post more...

the accident was horrible and the surgery scary...

but the RECOVERY is way harder.

mentally and physically and financially and every which way.

maybe you should start another thread (the title for this one is depressing)...

'help i've fallen and can't get up' or

'putting humpty back together' or

'escape from physical therapy' or

'where is my bed pan?' or

'my pelvis and yours' or

'hip hop i hope' or

'rehab 2007' or

you get the idea. just keep posting!

cheers

How about "I've been run over, and I'm trying to get up?"
