What's Your Labor Day plans?

Yahoo a 3 day weekend is around the corner what are your plans? For the Lacy's we are headed to one of the local campgrounds for a nice 3 day retreat. Swimming, cooking, adult beverages, and just plain fun family time.

Have a great time.

We're moving. Lots of work but it will be worth it.

We're taking Lucy to the Spirit of the Suwannee State Park near Live Oak, Florida, to do some camping with SuEllyn's two brothers from Jacksonville. We are going to spend the Labor Day Weekend there.

I'm sitting in a cabin at Catskill, NY. The sad thing is that I flew here leaving my Twink behind at the lake. I came to visit my husband at his jobsite, so that's the good part. I also had to leave the dogs at the vet and we both miss them very much. We just keep saying "boy wouldn't it be great to have the Argosy here with the kids (two Pomeranians)". Isn't it cool how much these trailers and pets add to our lives?

We're packing up and heading to the top of a mountain in the St. Joe National Forest area camping with friends (they all have SOB's, but we won't hold it against them) This will be out last trip of the year until the Beverly Beach Rally in October.

Staying Put

I'll be right here in Hood River winding down the summer and getting ready to hitch up and head back to Hurricaneville (FL) the following week. I'll be catching the last of the windsurfing and bike riding around here and will surely miss the awesome scenery, but one's gots to go back to work some time .

I'll be up on top of Gypsy resealing and cleaning up the yucky bad clear coat areas, giving her a good bath, and then a finish with Liquid Glass. I know I'll find a dozen other little problems that need to be fixed, but they'll wait until October and free time. Then she'll look fine when we head out late next week. Would you be surprised that we STILL have made no decision on whether to head west, southwest, or north? Surely this is a clear sign of incipient old age We may play flip the quarter and let that decide. I guess the good thing is that we'll enjoy whichever direction we head--and therein lies the problem of choice! Happy Labor Day Holiday to all~G

Hi Terry,

I sure hope you don't incur much damage from the upcoming hurricanes headed this season..guess Sacramento is gearing up for more flood protection here..we live near the American River Levee, and supposedly plans were made to shore it up..so far we've been lucky..when we had flooding in '86, we thought we were going to have to put the kids in our fishing boat and move to 'higher' ? ground...as it turned out the sewers had backed up and the streets filled up about a foot deep with water..it came up to about 3 inches from our front door..

Ohioans camping

We are headed to a local campground where we will be meeting some of the other Ohio AS Forums members who have chimed in recently. We hope to plan the next Ohio rally....before snow flies. Expecting a few showers from Ernesto, but hopefully we will all have a great time anyway!

We have back to back races Sat. & Sunday but it looks like storm Ernesto's coming up the east coast and might change our plans of camping at the event.

Eureka!

We're gearing up for the Gold Rush Days Event this Weekend in Old Sacramento..if you're out this way, come on by..try your luck at panning for gold, take a walk on the 'Old West' streets..try some good ol' sarsaparila, see a real (?) shootout. Those of you who know Huell Howser from Tennessee, he will be on hand to talk about the Lost Spike of the Railroad, give tours under the streets of Sacramento..

We're taking the "Changes" down to FDR State Park about an hour or so from our home on Thursday and set her up for the week end and head back to work/school on Friday then we'll have everything set when we get back there Friday afternoon after said work/school.

Then it'll be a week end of fishing, horseback riding, touring the local animal preserve, attending the astronomy presentation and other park programs, and relaxing by the campfire with one of those adult beverages for the three day week end. Gee, it sounds like we'll have a busy week end.

Working on the Airstream. Of Course!!

Planning on patching the floor up front, removing the rest of the cabinets in the bathroom, then runnining new pex and reinstalling the water tank.

Hopefully I can get it all done this weekend. Anyone going to be in Utah that wants to come help?

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend.

Regards,

Went to see a friend and her family at an rv park where they are seasonals. River Ridge in Michigan by Big Rapids goes all out for events on the week-ends. They held blind golf cart races, where the driver was blindfolded and the co-pilot navagated through an obstacle course. That was followed by watermelon bowling. The entire park was filled and it had an atmosphere between summer camp and a festival. Pretty neat to see all the different kinds of rvs and everyone getting together having so much fun.
