We have back to back races Sat. & Sunday but it looks like storm Ernesto's coming up the east coast and might change our plans of camping at the event.

Eureka!

We're gearing up for the Gold Rush Days Event this Weekend in Old Sacramento..if you're out this way, come on by..try your luck at panning for gold, take a walk on the 'Old West' streets..try some good ol' sarsaparila, see a real (?) shootout. Those of you who know Huell Howser from Tennessee, he will be on hand to talk about the Lost Spike of the Railroad, give tours under the streets of Sacramento..

We're taking the "Changes" down to FDR State Park about an hour or so from our home on Thursday and set her up for the week end and head back to work/school on Friday then we'll have everything set when we get back there Friday afternoon after said work/school.

Then it'll be a week end of fishing, horseback riding, touring the local animal preserve, attending the astronomy presentation and other park programs, and relaxing by the campfire with one of those adult beverages for the three day week end. Gee, it sounds like we'll have a busy week end.

Working on the Airstream. Of Course!!

Planning on patching the floor up front, removing the rest of the cabinets in the bathroom, then runnining new pex and reinstalling the water tank.

Hopefully I can get it all done this weekend. Anyone going to be in Utah that wants to come help?

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend.

Regards,

Went to see a friend and her family at an rv park where they are seasonals. River Ridge in Michigan by Big Rapids goes all out for events on the week-ends. They held blind golf cart races, where the driver was blindfolded and the co-pilot navagated through an obstacle course. That was followed by watermelon bowling. The entire park was filled and it had an atmosphere between summer camp and a festival. Pretty neat to see all the different kinds of rvs and everyone getting together having so much fun.

We had a terrific week end! We set up camp Thursday night at FDR State Park in Pine Mtn. Georgia and worked Friday and came back Friday night to camp all ready and waiting. The fridge was cold and the A/C cool. On Saturday, I took the boys fishing and later that day we took our two boys horse back riding at the FDR trails: they had the best time. Our younger boy is 6 and our older is 9 and this was both boys first time on a real horse, excluding poney rides. We rode on wooded mountain trails with two guides and another three party family.

On Sunday we took our boys for the surprise we had promised them for several days leading up to the trip...The Wild Animal Park at Pine Mountain. They loved it! The animal park has bred several Ligers (father=lion, mother=tigeress). They were huge. Larger than a male of either species.

Monday we packed up and headed home. The entire trip went off without a hitch, pardon the pun. No deer damage and no accidents...this is good for me. But I did have a couple of RV moments with the blue tote emptying the gray tank. I finally got the hang of it after dumping a couple of gallons of over flow on the ground at the camp site...must remember to open that little cap on top to let the air out. It seemed I had to emty that thing twice a day to keep up. Not really, but the gray tank on our AS is 38 gallons and the blue tote only holds 25. But I finally learned a technique that worked for me.

Met a nice guy with a big diesel pusher towing a fairly new Yukon at the dump station. He said he can tow it in Park with the transmission disengaged. Learn something new every day.

That was pretty much our week end. The best camping trip of the summer. Sad it is over.

Minnies Mate sounds like you had a great time and I'm sure the young ones will always remember the trip.

Yes, I think for a three day week end it turned out pretty good. Can't wait for the next camping trip!

Hope everyone else's was great, too!
