When we bought our "baby" we were told by the PO they had bought the AS from the orignal owner who purchased it new in 1971.
The questions on VIN's go me to wondering so I went and found the tag. MFG by AIRSTREAM 1969 !!!
Somehow a 60's model sounds a lot older than a 70's !!!!
Guess I'll have to change my profile...........
Good thing I didn't buy it for it's resale value. lol
In looking through the paperwork I found in my 1969 AS I learned it had been sold, new, in early 1971. Certainly a hold-over model at the original dealership (which is now defunct). Doesn't bother me as I figure that was one less year of use it had before I purchased it. But then, again, it is a '69 as represented. So, it's quite possible your's is one that didn't sell right away, also.
