Maybe they just rejected everybody! Going to be an imaginary council!

I thought of this as a bit of a lottery anyway. Hundreds of applications, a few spots. I wonder if the acceptance emails have gone out yet and those folks are prohibited from sharing.

Exactly . . . as discussed earlier. Will be interesting to see if any early posters in this thread are accepted, and if they can tell us that, at a minimum.

Why not accept this forum as one BIG 'advisory board' and reject all advise that doesn't fit their definition of the word?👍
Wait a minute...they already do that.

I got the rejection letter also.

At Alumapoloza Justin made the announcement that they had over 1000 applications. It was so many that they turned the process over to a firm they hired to make the choices. Sounds a little impersonal, but it is what it is.

I am surprised that no one here has chimed in that they made the cut. Maybe posting on Air Forums disqualifies you!

Dear Thomas,

Thank you for your interest in joining the Airstream Customer Council (ACC). The overwhelming number of responses we received -- more than 850 applications from across the country for the diverse 12-member group -- has inspired us to capture this passion in new and creative ways.

While we are unable to offer you a slot on the ACC this year (we encourage you to apply again next year), we would like to extend an invitation to join the newly created Silver Circle, an exclusive research collective of current and future owners to help us steer Airstream toward the future.

Silver Circle will require little effort on your part but will have a tremendous impact on our future. Approximately once a month, we’ll engage your point of view on important decisions we’re making to be certain they align with the experiences and expectations of seasoned Airstreamers and brand aficionados. In early July, you’ll receive additional details about The Silver Circle with the opportunity to sign up.

We hope you’ll join us influencing the future of Airstream.

Thank you,

-The Airstream Team

Hey, on the plus side, those of us who were rejected get to be on the Silver Circle, where we can answer a marketing question of the month, right? Seriously, though, if they ask interesting questions and we answer them, they're bound to learn something useful, even if it's something they would have preferred not to hear.

Meanwhile, who's selling big "Rejected!" stickers so we can all paste them on our Airstreams?

Ah, in the spirit of good fun, just kidding around, I have another idea...

Perhaps you thought that notion was a joke, but if Airstream could identify you by your user name here, it is likely that they don't want folks who feel free to post here [whether pro or con AS]. AKA . . . "Loose lips sink ships!"

Peter

PS -- OTRA15 and ROBERT CROSS received personal invitations to joint the Council, and the Thor corporate jet is picking us up.

If you believe that . . .

I received the same email as turk123. I have assumed that being invited to be in the "Silver Circle" means that we are too old to be included in the Airstream Customer Council. I will have to admit that I am curious to know the background of the folks who did get the slots on the ACC. I would think that there should be at least several members of the ACC that are Airforums members.

I do not feel badly about not being selected as I am way too busy getting Lucy packed up to head to Alaska in the next coiuple of days.

No doubt, anybody selected who said so before they signed an NDA would be dis-invited. Once the NDA has been completed, the Airstream Supreme Customer Council would have other recourse. Boba Fett comes to mind.

I am joining all you rejected guys, also. Got my notification, yesterday. The letter urged me to try again next year. I did read about one fellow who claimed he was interviewed for 30 minutes over the phone. Caz.

"We're gonna need a bigger truck." - you know, for all The Airstream Rejects. Is that the name of a band?

You know, I was just thinking. A better way to do this would have been to allow people to nominate members to the board. Would have saved them all the trouble of hiring a firm to do the work and they would get some real quality people on the board.

Based on their stock price, saving money would have been a good idea!
