What trailer do I have?

Hi All,
I have been reading the posts for about 9 months now but this is my first post so be patient. I have recently purchased a Airstream camper. It came with a brochure and a price list from March 1966. I am not sure what model the camper is. It says Continental on the rear of the camper on the storage container. The previous owner thought it was a 1967 but not sure. As I search this site for pictures or for a Continental I don't see any that resemble mine. Mine has curved glass windows in the front. One each next to the big window in the middle. There are metal covers over the window to protect them. The bath is in the rear. It measures around 24 feet. I will take pics and try to figure how to upload them. What a tremendous website you have here.
Thanks for any information you can share.

Ron

Hi Ron, What is the serial number of your Airstream? It should be on a plaque on the right hand side as you enter the door. Pictures would also be a big help.

Ron,

Post the vin# and identifying your rig should be straight forward. I hate to ask, but what does the title say it is?

I will check the VIN and post it. I am still in the process of getting the title in my possession. As soon as I do I will check it and post the information on it.

Continental...are you sure it doesn't say "International" instead?

International is a trim package that was available on vintage trailers...Continental isn't a term Airstream ever used. In the mid-sixties, there would also have been a name describing the length of the trailer (Caravelle, GlobeTrotter, Safari, Ovelander, Ambassador, Sovereign) which would be indicated on the VIN plaque next to the door. If the back does indeed say Continental, it may have been a creative previous owner's "add".

Any pictures?

Sounds like the key words here are "........Continental on the storage container". Maybe a rear mounted storage bin with that brand name? It will be interesting to see the pictures.

Check this out...

Silver Streak Continental Deluxe Rocket
what a great name!

Alot of folks think "if it's silver, it must be an "Airstream"...not always the case ~

I think the SilverStreaks are distinct. Welcome to the Forum.
