Given that Airstreams are already more expensive than their competitors, might as well do a more exclusive version.
Why not do a polished aluminum skin, as in the old days? That's the icon everyone remembers anyway, and why I probably will always stay with the older ones.
I love the idea of extra attention to aerodynamics, as it just looks cool.
Retro elements, like painted wheels and baby moon hubcaps?
It would be a great platform for a number of different decor styles as have already been mentioned. Vintage Hawaiian kitsch for me, thanks.

I'm really curious about this. Where was this 150 gallon oil tank inside the body, and how would the engineer move it around between the four engines?

Dad told me the tank was in the belly and they would pump it to the engine in need

I saw an SOB thread a while ago of a wine 'cellar' built into a cavity in the foor. The cover was a pull up panel finished in the matching flooring. In this thread there was a post where the cellar was in the no longer needed floor furnace. So check your coach for space between the floor and belly pan.

Regarding themes: less is more imo. Kitch is fun but...the recent Land Yacht is sleek and rich compared to a standard models with all the appliances exposed. Elegant design for a small space. I only wish they didn't cost so much. Here's hoping I'll find a used Land Yacht reasonably priced in 15-20 years. Ya-right.

I am surprised no one has come up with a Frank Lloyd Wright trailer. Might be difficult to fit his angular vision into the rounded Airstream.

Hi, with wood trim, Yes. But with 6" high windows and his traditional low ceiling made for short people, No. Frank Lloyd Wright also didn't like closets.

pardon the drift off-topic.
If in Kansas City, the downtown airport has a Connie Museum and it is an interesting tour.
Now back on topic.

I'd love to see an off-road, boondocking edition. Composting toilet, lots of solar, battery bank, and decent ground clearance.

We'd love a King Ranch version to match our truck. The leather is beautiful.

I'd like a Thule, Yakima or kuat version with integrated bike racks.
