What does your 1970s Airstream weigh when it's all loaded up?

Hi Guys,

I have posted this question on the "Overlander" and "Ambassador" sections of this website but would like to hear from people with all different sized vintage Airstreams. Just wondering if you have ever taken your trailer over a set of scales after you've loaded it up? If so, what does she weigh? If you could tell me the year, model, and bed/bath configuration, that would be nice.

Thanks,

Rod

The last time I had mine on scales it was at 6550# that was what I would call lightly loaded. No fluid in any of the tanks, but it did have full 30# LP tanks. Mine is a 1975 Sovereign rear bath center twins.

Hi, Rod,

'79 Excella 31

Empty - 5,550 lbs according to the P.O., who showed me a scale ticket to prove it. I fell in love in it at about 500 ft, and towed it 1,750 miles home with a '93 V8 Dakota. A year later, I still love it, but the truck is bigger and better.

I haven't weighed it yet, but the water tank is 50 gallons. I figure it sort of is distributed during travel but weighs the same.
