No, really, I do use it for business trips that are within California.
It makes a great mobile office, all it takes is my laptop and HP portable printer, a small file box, and voila, office. I am thinking of taking it to the Arlington TX Guitar show in October.

I take my CCD out to paint (one of the primary reasons for getting some sort of sleepover unit)! I belong to a local Art group that makes weekly trips to paint en plen aire various sites locally. On the longer trips (over 20 miles), I tow my A/S to the site and sleep overnight, then wake up....eat breakfast and drink my cupa java....then walk out the door and start painting! You can see that I don't need much of an excuse to use my A/S! One of my goals is to paint my own CCD in a pristine setting!

Ah, shucks, I thought the Airstream was meant to store my mousetraps and peanut butter, and to keep my little herd of mouses warm on the cool nights here in the mountains. Alas, one of the poor little dears got caught in one of the mousetraps a few days ago, and I had to put him in the dumpster.

Intended for week-end get-a-ways

Looks like it is first going to be a restoration project.

Keep from mowing grass?

Let's see got 'bout an acre of grass that needs to mowed every week or so, if I buy 150 AS's and place them next to each other.... Like many we use ours to dispose of spare cash, kill grass, restoration project, keeps me home on weekends....We did get to use it during one ice storm when the power went out, to cook lunch and stay warm in.

Mine's a mobile recording studio! I'm actually recording the Trailer Park Troubadors next month. Here's my site with some OK pictures, etc.

I Love My Airstream!!

We have property up in Michigan. The A/S is parked on our property. It's our get-away. We go for weekends and vacation.
I get to fish all do along and come back to the Airstream and hang out.
We just love it. It's a place of little responsibility - unlike the rest of our life!!

wife does not like either)
- Beer storage
- A place of solitude (with the beer)
- A place to work quietly

All in all I am quite satisified... What do you use yours for?

Post My personal extended stay hotel suite

I'm using our Airstream as a hotel right now.

At least twice a year "The Tube" leaves her barn and travels down south to Massachusetts to become my personal extended stay hotel suite for a couple of weeks. I have customers who come in from around the world to do some software testing at my company's Burlington, MA campus and instead of my having a 2 to 2 1/2 hour commute each way everyday I park our Airstream in my sister in laws driveway where I get water, 15 amp electric service and my commute is cut down to 45 minutes each way! I piggyback off a wifi setup next store to her and work from "home" in the evenings (yes, I asked permission first, the folks were surprised to hear I could connect to the internet using their wireless network but were happy to share the connection with me).

It's really great. I get a short commute, sleep in my own bed, shower in my own bathroom, prepare my own food and get to hang out with family. Only thing missing is 30amp service for AC as it's wicked hot in New England right now.
