I didn't know that there was a Facebook group. Is it public, or do you need to be invited?
I would be interested and would appreciate any additional info.
Thanks in advance.

I'm loving my new dehumidifier. It's whisper-quiet and very effective in cold weather. It does not use a compressor, so it works well in cold spaces, which is where compressor models fail. It's lighter than my old compressor dehumidifier, with a handle to move it around, and a dial to choose the % humidity you want to target. Two speeds (regular and "rapid dehumidify/dry laundry")
EcoSeb DD122EA-SIMPLE Desiccant Dehumidifier, 15-Pint, White, 120V

The technology requires heating of the air to make it shed moisture, so it puts out air that is about 30° warmer than the air it takes in. So that's good for winter, which is when I use it but not great for summer.

Fridge vent air deflector

Ever since I got my '66 Safari, it's been impossible to run the fridge on gas while on the road. The flame blew out every time the trailer was moved, and the re-ignite feature couldn't re-light it.

I finally found the solution--a heavy plastic deflector from Lowe's air conditioning vent section.

I fastened it to the belly pan just ahead of the lower fridge vent with sheet metal screws. I figured that the installation might be temporary, but would at least tell me if the idea works.

It does! It works great! The fridge stays on, the food stays cold, and I'm no longer using valuable fridge space for frozen cold packs or carrying food in a cooler until I can get the fridge cold on a campsite.

The fridge that's now in the trailer is not the original. It was changed out by a PO, so I don't know the specifics. It's possible the vent locations worked fine for the original fridge, and just didn't work for this one.

If the plastic deflector gets torn off, I'll make a new one from aluminum.

Here's a few photos, just to pass along the idea.

Our trailer hit it big for Christmas:
Airstream stainless coffee mugs
Non-Airstream stainless freeze gel martini glasses
Airstream stainless ice cubes
Airstream insulated picnic basket/tote
Hand grind coffee mill and a bunch of coffee

and hopefully some entry door hinge pins that USPS sent on two round trips from JD Sanders in Alachua, FL to Denver (Alachua - Jacksonville - Denver - Jacksonville - Denver - ???) instead of to Melbourne, FL. Sorting machine in Jacksonville obviously has problems.....

Gonna try it all out at Canopener. On the road in 5 more days!

Al

All I need is to connect a flexible hose from the capped-off propane line under the dinette seat to the heater. Temporarily mounted at the moment.

Got our Wave 8 heater plumbed last Sunday. Works good! Just need to make one more stop at Lowes to get an in-line valve and a fitting. Would be smart to have one close to the heater, under the dinette seat.

So how do these things compare to the furnace? Been so curious about that.

After arriving at a NP campground at 9:30pm, no light and raining, I determined that I needed back-up lights. Lights that would flood the rear of the TT and the side area.

So I installed two Lumitec 101292 CapreraLT LED Cockpit Flood Deck Light with Bracket Mount to flood the area. I wired it to the switch over the dump valves. This way, we can just turn them on and they stay on as opposed to going on and off when going between drive and reverse. Plus, you can turn it on when disconnected from TV if you need to flood the rear with light.
