Plumbing stack covers

My six, yes that's right, six... new plumbing stack covers came in from Vintage Trailer Supply. Hopefully the weather stays clear enough for me to get up on the two trailers I have at home for replacement this weekend

Hey pharm if you got a clamp meter make sure it is for DC voltages if that's what you are going to measure. If it is one from Home Depot likely it is an AC model and isn't going to do you much good...

I've got the thing on upside down because of the Rock Tamers and the gusset on the Equal-i-zer shank, so there is a gap at the bottom between the shank and the receiver tube. I need to cram a shim in there to take pressure off that u-bolt.
It handled much better without the hitch wobbling around. I need to get some measurements. I think I got an 1/8" of rise right there- trailer getting closer to level. We just tried it on a 2 1/2 hour road trip to Trace State Park in Belden, MS between Pontotoc and Tupelo.
Look on Amazon for "hitch anti-rattle device" and you will see several styles, a couple of which I had dreamed up in my head as possibilities but had never seen in real life.

I wish you could upload sound bites on here. It is so quiet except for bugs chirping.

Ain't Amazon cool?
Whatever you ordered is almost coming through the door by the time you hit "enter".

Amazon...
I think they can be purchased at an RV dealership, but I don't live close to an RV dealer.

Figured unless I wanted broken windows and scar tissue on the front of our Limited a set of Rock Tamers was in order. Got lucky with the Hensley stinger, there was literally just enough space to fit the thing on there! (without any modification)

Nice! I have what may be a silly question: Our truck already has Ram dealer-installed, serious-looking mud flaps fore and aft on the truck, which will supposedly stop rocks, mud, etc. from flying upward or backward...what do Rock Tamer flaps add to that mix?

The factory mud flaps protect the truck itself, not what's being towed by the truck. Whatever debris comes up at a sharp angle is deflected from the truck's paint job maybe 3' back. Whatever debris is slinging of the rear tires at a more slight angle just goes up into the air behind the truck if not towing or onto the trailer if towing.

That little do-dad made it handle better- no thunking, clunking, bumping from the wobbly, sloppy hitch.

We have not posted previously, however in July we purchased our one owner 1994 21' Sovereign from a neighbor. She has been to Outdoors Mart and had new brakes, and a complete inspection with anything necessary including a new bathroom fan. Since, we have added a new Yamaha 2400 generator, 2 Strongback chairs, 2 fold-able ottomans for inside, outside carpet for under the awning, an Alpine fold up table, Weber 100Q, Coleman propane campstove. Now to Mile High Campground Wednesday for a week to see how it all goes and enjoy the fall colors of the Smokies. Oops, also 32' of 4' foot high foldable fencing for the Wheaties.

One spray bottle of Turtle Wax ICE, three quarters of which are now evenly distributed on our AS. It's never been so shiny, works great!

A 1981 Excella II

As of last week, I purchased our first Airstream! A 1981 Excella II, 31ft. The previous owner gutted and remodeled it so that the bathroom was moved to the middle. Since we have nowhere to park it, its still at the PO's land, who is being gracious enough to let it stay there for a month or so until we figure things out.

Also, thanks to this thread, I've ordered a Kill A Watt, Andersen levelers, and added a ton of items to my amazon wish list! I can't wait to be living in it full-time!

PROTECTION for your AS.

Even with the tamers set for 1/4" clearance to the ground, we still get many rocks past both the front and rear dealer mud flaps!

I really like that idea. Are they quickly/easily removable? Once we get settled in, we often head out on day trips with the tow vehicle which often includes some fourwheeling and these might be in the way.

They are attached to the hitch shank, so they come in and out with the hitch. There are 2 set screws that hold it to the hitch shank.

One needs a couple of inches clearance under the rock tamers so when the rear of the truck sags due to a bump the tamers do not touch the road surface. when they hit the road at speed, road debris gets thrown up into the trailer from the dragging action.
