I researched Hensley, liked what I saw and read, saw one in person. We did a test drive with it, and I felt a major difference right away, all for the better. The AS was smooth, steady, and backed into our spot easier than before.

You can ask, why Chevy instead of Ford, Dodge, or whatever. Personal preference will differ from person to person.

Airstream Hygiene

It's not what we GOT our Airstream, but rather what we GAVE our Airstream. Saturday afternoon, we towed our 4-year-old Airstream out onto the pad in front of the hanger to give her a bath. We've had her three months, but this was the first weekend mild enough to wash her. My husband climbed up the ladder to see what kinds of brushes he'd need on the roof and discovered---a moss-like substance growing there! We don't know if this poor lil' Airstream has EVER had a bath! Well, we gave her a good washing Saturday, and a good polishing Sunday afternoon. She's looking much better!

One more issue is the caulking around doors, vents, AC, etc. It seems to be deteriorating, so we worked on that, too. Could some of you share insight re. caulking? We don't want her to leak!

Got a Traeger Junior Elite pellet smoker/grill from Costco. It is the perfect size to tailgate or use when we camp with our Airstream. They threw in some rub and a kevlar cover. It fits perfectly on our dutch oven table. I did not install the legs to make it easier to move around.

I have two, one in FL and one in NC. They make a folding leg kit and a tailgating kit with no legs but wheels for the junior, in case one of those might be of use to you.

Not for the trailer, but for the TV (should we start another thread?):
I went to town to get an oil change, tire rotation, and propane. I was planning on being back at the trailer for breakfast.
What I got was:
An oil change, cabin filter, 4 new tires, and an alignment.
Toyota got new shoes!
I ate my breakfast for lunch...
Those tires were the original tires that were put on the truck when it was built in 2007.
Feeling safe for our trip to the mother ship...

An AeroPress..... I may have found the ultimate coffee solution. Great tasting coffee and virtually no cleanup. Yeah!

I have one and LOVE it! We use it at home, in the camper, and at our northwoods cabin... Even on the boat!

Started installing the molded in color belt molding and lower rub rail molding I procured last winter. NO MORE PEELING CHROME MOLDINGS!

Bed Bath & Beyond - NEMESIS

Got some flexible color cutting mats - easy to store and to avoid cross contamination. Bought a few OBX clear containers for stuff in the pantry and over the fridge - noodles, rice, lentils, cereal, etc. The lids are press button sealing gasket type. Should be critter proof. Also got a nice small hand broom integrated into a dustpan. Good for small spills and sweeping the floor.

Bought a small "grocery cart" like granny used. I've always used the folding laundry bags but you can't store those in the shower if you don't hand dry the floor first. This should fit nicely and keep the dirty laundry off the floor. I'm sewing a fabric bag/liner for it tonight so my unmentionables don't protrude through the wires. They make a lot of oversized carts these days, but this one should be narrow enough to get in and out of the shower and though the door of the Airstream.

Got 10 new microfiber towels. Some of the old ones really HAVE picked up too much crud to be safe and non-scratchy.

It's SPRING, time for new stuff in the Airstream.

Paula
