I've had my eye on this for a while. Now, it only needs to get cold enough here to cut wood or something. Actually, I think I'll buy some mesquite logs instead of chips this weekend, we'll see how that goes!

A new travel latch for the awning. Last trip out, one latch just disappeared. Turns out they are just secured by a screw from the underside of the awning protective aluminum cover. Recommend that you periodically tighten these items, and maybe use a little LocTite. They are not supposed to be loose at all per the ZipDee install instruction.

We visited a new Airstream dealership in Fairfield, CA yesterday for more interior plan ideas. We almost left with a new Airstream (!) but settled for a pair of the 'official' Airstream flamingos. My daughter promptly named them George and Georgina. I have no idea why.
And for interior plan, we are going to replicate the 2014 28' International Signature in our 1972 27' International.

Picked some things up yesterday. Some sealant, olympic rivets, and a new old stock front curbside window for my 69 Sovereign.

New bathroom faucet installed and got my father to help work out the dent in the front curbside banana panel.

I bought a cheap ($29) tight quarters corded drill and a hand full of different 1/4" shank polishing wheels from Harbor Freight, along with some of their white polish and a BUNCH of white terry cloth towels.
If you want to try something a bit cheaper, I've also been using a metal polish made by Mothers, should be in with the wash & wax stuff at an auto parts store. $10 for a container, apply in small areas with a rag & some circular rubbing motion and remove with another clean rag. For the $$ it did a really good job! My rims were considerably neglected and the Mothers by itself did wonders.

1 gollon of ethylene glycol to begin killing floor rot fungus in our 2010 28ft flying cloud rear storage compartment (under the aluminum floor plate) before going on a 2 month trip and returning to begin tearing out the rotted floor sections just in front of the bumper, grrrr. Just another endearing characteristic feature of #%&!!! Airstream Inc's "Lexus like" trailer cost without any "Lexus like" quality.

What did you get for your Trailer today?
A few dents and scratches from the party tent that the neighbors setup next door prior to a windstorm:
Looking forward to seeing the repair bill on this one...

Not sure yet.... In Michigan, most everything is covered by the insurance of the vehicle owner, even when another is at fault. Not sure how it will work on this.

How did you discover the floor rot under the aluminum plate? And, how is the plate removed? I have a similar trailer which I washed yesterday and did not see any moisture in the compartment, but possibly it's under the plate?
Thanks,
Rick

Rperrym I used a 1-1/2 inch hole saw to cut thru the aluminum and vinyl to gain inspection access. Plan was to save the plug and simply replace it using a screwed to hold it in place and seal with parrbond for looks. Pretty easy as the aluminium is only .023 thick (for reference that is the same thickness as a Kleenex box cardboard). However the Al plate is just sitting on top of the vinyl floor in my trailer held down by 3 screws and an aluminum angle at the back of the compartrment and by a vinyl trim and screws at the bumper opening. You may be able to just unscrew and lift the thin plate out and then just cut or probe thru the vinyl. I could not since one screw was not accessable, trapped under the bed support, hence the initial hole cutting. Now it's all out, al plate and vinyl...rot is about 10 inches into floor completely across the rear of the trailer....learning more than I ever wanted to know!
