I was thinking along the same lines. Maybe we could get a petition stated to end theis thread but I don't know who would sign it. I won't sign it as I have to much fun reading all the stuff one can buy for their AS. In fact i am looking to add a hitch to the AS to attach a small trailer just to carry all the stuff i have bought as a result of this thread.

Agreed, Urnmor... If someone will come up with an "accessory trailer" to pull behind the Airstream, I suppose I'd buy that too.

I guarantee my husband would buy at least one of those! Trying to figure out something now!

I've been extremely busy lately. Today was one oft hose days to hit the home store with a list and a pocket full of screws. I'm redoing a '69 Overlander, and if it ain't aluminum of copper, it's rusted. So today I got:

8-32, 3/8" pan head machine screws (thse will hold the crank handles on the knurled knobs that raise and lower the vent covers)
Size 8 sheet metal screws (these will mount the screens to the ceiling around the vents)
A couple other screws in various sizes
More degreaser spray (because every time I remove something I find 40 years of cooking grease)
Two types of epoxy putty (I'm finding all sorts of uses for this stuff)
Some plumbing supplies (I haven't decided yet whether to replace ALL of the plubming with PEX, or just what's damaged)

And then I found the score of the day. Stainless, self-stick, backspalsh tiles. These: Peel and Stick Matted Backsplash Tiles - Aspect — Aspect

I started the install, but didn't finish it tonight. The first few tiles need some tricky cuts to fit around the window.

Also this weekend ordered a new skylight cover and new covers for the four way lights throughout. Both of those were ordered from Airstreamsupply.com. First order from that outfit, so we'll see how it goes.

No worries, RoadCessna! In spite of how many "necessary" items I've had to purchase because of this thread, I can't stop looking for more.

If you start running out of ideas, take a look at Uncrate for a faster way to spend money. I spent three hours just looking one night. Foolishness!

I just bought and installed a set of stabilizer jacks on my '64 Safari. I don't know if these were available as early as '64, but I was tired of setting up with the little aluminum jack stands. It was always hard to figure out exactly where to put it to be under the frame. The new ones fit perfectly and work like a charm. No more bouncy bouncy.

By the way, I have a set of original vintage portable stabilizer jacks for sale if anyone is interested.

They need added value. Just put 'em on Ebay and say they came from Bob Hope's Airstream, like everybody else there does.

Actually, I might be if they aren't 700 times the price of new ones because they belonged to Bob Hope or were used in Space Capsule recovery.
