So my 2020 Corona virus project was to give my 2001 Bambi all of the love and attention she so deserves. Started with spring wash and Walbernize. Then performed all of the suggested lubrications and maintenance from the owners manual. Then added a portable solar panel and SAE port for plug and play solar. Then replaced my Thetford Aqua Magic toilet.
Unfortunately I had a catastrophic tire blowout on the way back from Yellowstone last August. This prompted the need for a new axle, wheels, brakes and tires (insurance paid). While in the shop (Airstream Boise) I had them add 3" lift, and scrap and replace roof sealant and window sealant as well as a few other misc. repair items.
Just picked it up last weekend. Lesson was learned, I now have TST TPMS.

Looks great. More space is a good thing especially when this area is typically under utilized. Nice!
Did you make it yourself?

We've been wanting to do the same thing for a while now as that space is rarely used. Where did you get it? It looks like the finish matches perfectly.
thanks,

I made it with the help of a friend who has all the needed woodworking tools. We're headed to the Florida Keys on Tuesday, so that will be our first chance to try it out.

A friend and I made it. I asked Airstream if they could make it for me as part of my service visit this summer, but they couldn't do a single large drawer like this one and it was a lot more expensive. I ordered the Wilsonart laminate from Home Depot, and it is the same as what came with the trailer.

We have thought about just this type of mod in our 2019 FC25 FBT. Your post has motivated me to get it done. I have the woordworking skills and tools but wonder if you have any shop drawings or similar for the components that make up your cabinet that you would be willing to share?
Thanks!

Sure sign of Spring
Besides the begonias and grow lights, the stack of things to do has reached critical mass - waiting on weather:
2 LiFePo batteries acquired at new local solar vendor open house - not optimal but they were a "deal."
Victron 18 amp 12/12 charger/isolator
Victron 712 battery monitor
propane tank gauges
water pump electronic controller
kinetic recovery rope
Various new tools, wire and connectors "needed" to accomplish above.
On the Way:
Two new style P3 hitch adjustment towers. Already removed the old ones to gain access to the front storage compartment for battery swap.

As I have done a lot of maintenance this year on our AS (new domestic fans, new
skylight and new sealant) I decided to also replace the old jack and old propane lines. I installed the new Husky Super Brute 5000 and also installed a pair of gas-stop propane shutoff values along with the new lines. Installation was relatively easy in both cases.

Rear Bumper - covered gaps between box and bumper
It was a nice day and I had some time on my hands. I cleaned out the rear bumper storage and washed the mat. While at it I noticed the gap between the inside of the bumper and the storage compartment. I remember reading another post where someone lost their awning rod and suspected it made its way out in the gap.
I decided to make a piece out of sheet metal to cover the gap. I traced the shape of the bumper on a piece of cardboard, trimming until I got the size right and transferred it to the sheet metal. I masked off the inside and painted the rest black. I applied some 3M VHB tape and fit the parts in place.
No more worries about losing stuff out the corners!

January 2020 I replaced all the tires on the T.V. and Airstream in anticipation of our western states that year ... well they finally hit the road a week ago. We went to a rally .
Yesterday I got a rocking chair that matches the wife’s and a pair of red folding side tables to replace our 20+ year old ones .

I just finished replacing the Formica with Corian & under mount sink. I used a full plywood backer which supports the sink eliminating the chance of it falling out.

Just what we would like to do ... may we ask where you sourced materials and approximate cost?
Thanks

Too much spare time Pt. 2
Now that I’m retired I have extra time on my hands and keep finding things to tinker with. The other day I emptied the three external storage compartments and eliminated some things I never used.
The curb side compartment is where I store the Anderson levelers, X-Chocks and Airstream tools. They were laying in the bottom of the compartment and easy to forget.
I found some plastic pegboard and clips that screw onto the board and laid out the tools until I found a way to fit them (kind of like Tetris). I like how it turned out. Amazon has a starter kit with two 22” pieces of poly pegboard and an assortment of hardware (DuraHook 990-S Triton Products Pegboard Kit, Silver/White). I added two other size clips too.
While I was at it I made a divider for the bumper storage and cut up some wood blocks into 6 1/2” lengths in three different thicknesses for leveling on uneven ground for the Globetrotter’s electric levelers. I cut a slot in the divider for the awning rod.
