I just picked up a sheet of "Amber Maple" Formica laminate that will be cut up to replace the 1971 vintage dark wood laminate on the outside of the pantry and closet doors.

All the rest of the 1971 laminate has been replaced with real birch. It's as close of a match to the birch as we could find. We wanted to keep the original aluminum extrusion construction wherever possible. With the way the closets are built, the only option was laminate for the closet and pantry doors.

Once that's in, the interior will be a relatively uniform blank palette and we can add some art to the walls.

I have seen them in other RV dealerships.
There are 2 types and 2 heights- you need the shorter one for the Airstream-
One screws up or down for the height adjustment- preferable because it gives infinite adjustment-
The other has a series of holes and a button that you push in then slide up or down till the button aligns with one of the holes- what if you need a height in between?

I specifically wanted a blue noodle to match the blue pinstripe, logos, awnings, and chairs. Wife bought the noodle on clearance at Walmart for 50 cents. I want another one now for the other awning arm... And for the corner of the vent hood in the kitchen...

My Dometic 320 head and 30AMP SurgeGuard arrived from camping world. I got an email last week that the Dometic 320 part of the order was returned for refund. I hadn't seen it delivered. I called CW customer service and they answered right away and told me that UPS broke the toilet in shipping and returned it from the depot in Bakersfield before it reached me. CW said they'd ship another right away and it arrived Monday. Great customer service on the part of CW and UPS on this one.

A pair of aluminum 'Jack Froster' freezer/fridge dishes by Wearever. One still has the contents listed as 'Strawberries 8-17-57'. Not bad for $2 at the thrift store!

Installed it yesterday! Works great.

Geez those furnaces are hard to work in. I couldn't remove the burner assembly because the copper gas line and fitting were in the way. That made the job take about 5 times as long as it would've otherwise. It took me probably 3.5 hours to do it. It's not a technically difficult job, but wow...there's just almost no clearance for anything.

The worst part is the bolt at the top of the motor. With the burner in the way, there's just not much room to work, so I was constantly fighting with it. If I could've taken the burner out I probably would've been done in 30 minutes, but I think to do that I would have had to cut the gas pipe and re-flare it, which would've meant even MORE problems, like not enough pipe left to make the connection.

I never thought I'd say this, but the furnace in the B190 was far easier to work on than this one is. Hopefully this new motor lasts at least as long as the 18 years the original motor did (it was dated '94 so it's likely it was the original).

At least I had a reasonably nice day to do it - most of the time that kind of problem would crop up when it's 20 degrees outside and it HAS to be fixed.

We also have been buying new door handles for our trailer on the installment plan. We buy 5 every time we go to Lowes and do a few more cabinets each time. Here is our choice - we think the satin nickel makes a nice complement to the aluminum. We just have to figure out what we want to do about hinges yet... (Our old pulls were something like this, but uglier and more annoying because the wooden part pops off and gets lost.)

I purchased Tremco 635 from vintagetrailersupply.com and some polyshim ii from allglassparts.com. Looking forward to fixing my vista views and doing some exterior caulking. Weather should be nice this week in Virginia. Pics to come on the threads for window repair. 1973 ambassador
