In the heyday of the American railroads, many railroads placed a "drumhead," or "tailsign," on the last car of their premier passenger trains. The drumhead was a lighted sign that (usually) displayed the name of the train.

One of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad's premier passenger trains was the Silver Meteor, which ran from New York to Miami and St. Petersburg, Florida. The Silver Meteor's drumhead is pictured here:

Our Airstream is named for the Meteor, and last week, on her way to the WBCCI Metro NY Unit's Independence Day Weekend Rally, she finally had her modern version of the Meteor's drumhead installed. She now proudly shows off her all-American railroad and Airstream heritage as she roams the highways.

We boondock a lot. Ice is always a problem because we usually have the freezer packed with things we will be eating, plus it is nice to have somewhere to keep beverages besides the fridge. I work some for a local outfitter who sells these. Awesome cooler.

After a few years of owning it, and lots of hoops jumped, I now have a TITLE! (and it's registration plate).

I couldn't bring myself to open my wallet to it without proper ownership.

When I saw them, they are very cute, I thought of the Colorado mountains capped with snow.

I made a bracket to mount my fresh water pump on in the vertical position.
I was trying to cram 10 pounds of plumbing in to a 5 pound spot.

About 7-10 years ago, wasn't there the attempt to form another club "TAC; The Airstreamers Club" and their number color was to be GREEN?
