Some great ideas. Would you happen to have a picture of the replacement grab handle? Was it difficult to make the switch?

Thanks!

The dealer wired it to the switch for the steps. Removed the old handle, trimmed some molding and bolted down. Inside you would remove the access panel to the left of door, and get access to wiring. Then it's just snaking the wires over the six inches or so.
Pictures to follow, iPhone not emailing right now.

All true benefits. But the real reason for the ring or "ringers" was because the initial sensor kits came with silicone rubber spacers to "lift" the tanks to avoid the tanks crushing and destroying the electronic sensors underneath. These rubber spacers were notorious for their failures and subsequent wiping out the expensive sensors. I went through several before calling it quits, until I saw the aluminum spacers and the option for purchasing the rings which I now have. IMO good idea for tracking propane use, but execution of product roll out mickey mouse. They were awfully slow in correcting the design fatal flaw and probably lost a lot of sales before they woke up.

The dealer picked it, a Lippert double step with 7"spacing, and 24"wide. They had aluminum ones available, but I didn't see the need to spend the extra money. If I could figure out how to post picture I would.

I used fuel line split down the middle on one side, works great too!

Bye bye Chrome!

New satin nickel pull down faucet in the kitchen, matching one in the bathroom and painted all the chrome handles matte silver.

I have a cordless 5" zip disk angle grinder. It took about 1 minute per side to cut the last link attached to the loop welded to the trailer tongue.

Be careful not to cut the loop that is permanent to the trailer, just cut the chain link.

I have some rated auto locking carabiners (8,000 lbs each) which replace the cut off link. This makes for some easy on/off of the chains.

A heavy duty shackle or quick link could work as well, just make sure that it fits in the chain link and the trailer safety loop.

Also, when using the cutting disk, you should protect the trailer surfaces from the sparks as these will embed into the soft surfaces and rust over time. I just used an old fleece and made sure to send the sparks into the ground.

In the end I think I may have slowed down a would be thief by a few minutes but that may enough for them to go elsewhere for easier pickin's.
