I’ll have to remember the toilet seat. I agree the seat in the Globetrotter is not the quality it should be, and a soft close, and light, would be nice!

The toilet seat in our picture is not a Kohler. Our is a domestic toilet seat for the dometic toilet. To our knowledge, we have a Dometic 310 toilet. We ordered the dometic 310 self closing seat from Camping World in the white color. It is a perfect match and fit perfect. The self close feature is great-just like our home toilets.

We bought and installed the same seat. And yes we got ours from Camping World as well. Here is the description, "Slow-Close Seat For Dometic 310 Toilet, White #96154".

It's a nice touch (pun intended)!

Hanno,

Looks like we have yet another thing in common! I’m thinking I’ll probably have to break down and get that Progressive Dynamics surge protector you have.

Don't laugh.
A cue ball.
The ultimate arbiter of level. I plan to check my small bubble level, and my apps on the phone against...real gravity.
I considered ball bearings, but Amazon (of course) has individual billiards balls. $4
With the Level Mate Pro, I want to start with a known quantity to set 'level'.

We use the bathroom door to verify that the trailer is level after using Andersen Levelers and LevelMate Pro.

Inverter/Charger Upgrade

I installed a new Magnum - Advanced Remote Controller (ARC) in the AS last weekend. Besides many other features not found in the standard remote, I can now switch the charger into absorb charge mode (or float mode) at the push of a button. Makes life a little easier on those cloudy days when the solar cannot quite fill-up the batteries.

Please tell us the price of the Magnum and how you installed it. Thanks. Marty

Marty,

Are you asking about the whole system or just how I installed the new remote control?

Thanks, Dave

Oh, I'm not sure what he bought. Sorry, and he's currently not home to ask (traveling for business). I'll try to find out.
We pulled out of the shelter in a rain storm last fall, and caught the back passenger "corner" of the trailer and the bumper on a front support column. Bent the bumper at 90 degrees, and put a large-ish shallow dent in the trailer. He's fixed the bumper over the winter in his workshop, but we'll try the dent in the spring. Ish.

New camera! When we bought our 27FB, it came with the factory bluetooth camera, but honestly, I've never been happy with it. Plus you end up with that bulky monitor in your vehicle. Enter 2020 and a new GM vehicle, I was able to find one of the new cameras that plug-in into the new 2020 GM trucks at our local GMC dealer (these are highly constrained at the moment apparently). I hope to install it on the Airstream over the next couple of days. I'll post photos when I do the install. I'm still on the fence as to where I'll install it. In order to do the 'invisible trailer' parlor trick, it has to be installed at the same height as the truck bed camera. If all I care about seeing behind me, I can install it where the factory camera is currently installed.

Marty,

The part that I replaced last weekend was the remote controller which is on the wall by the refrigerator (sorry, no pix). The ME-ARC cost $205 through Amazon. The MSH-3012 (3000-watt hybrid inverter/charger) I installed three years ago cost about $2000. The other expensive items were the 4 6-volt Lifeline AGM batteries which were another $1500, as I recall.

This is what it all looked like installed.
