Reading the details of the advert at Amazon,
SHURflo 4008-101-E65 is a two year pump warranty.
SHURflo 4008-101-A65 is a one year pump warranty.

E is an aftermarket, and A is dealer/OEM. Otherwise they appear identical.

Per our post above, cleaned up the wiring design for Rocinante's battery box, swapped in SS flange nuts for the wing nuts, and added a boot for the other positive terminal to reduce the risk of bonehead mistakes by yours truly. Added a flange to help hold down the batteries via the central post bolt by spreading the clamping force beyond just the shoulder of each battery. Another bonus is that it's now easier to check and water the batteries if needed.

Inspired by Rocinante - no real name given.
Made a count of the individual wires making up my battery box rats nest.

Emergency brake
Jack
Back up camera
TST TPMS repeater
Two mystery wires that lead inside the trailer
Positive and ground main battery cables

Tomorrows project is a small marine junction box mounted on the side of the battery box with one wire leading to the battery positive post. I found one in my box of swag from my sailboat cruising days that will work nicely.

Visited the Sportsman Show at Kentucky Horse Park last weekend and saw a generator box exactly like I've been brainstorming. I bought one and finished mounting it today. I also picked up an extension that we can use when maneuvering (backing into sites, etc.) to help make up for the reduced turning radius. I'll add a few more details to "Shiny Reveal - 1968 Overlander" thread tomorrow.

I don't need any more character.

Sbb,

Hope all is well. We met at Recompence in Maine a couple of years ago.

Yes. Thanks to the talent and experience shared here on the Forum, we purchased a 13,500 BTU Coleman Power Saver. It runs with margin on the 2200w generator. I posted more details on another thread.

What did you get for your Trailer today?

Got and installed a new Barker VIP 3000 jack to replace the Barker "Heavy-Duty Hi-Power 3000" jack that was on there. Old jack was leaning too much - top leaned back toward the tanks, foot leaned out. It also groaned a lot despite putting plenty of grease in the head. New jack sounds better and fit the mounting holes just fine.

I learned something about Barker jack names. They apparently change them like the weather. The original jack is now referred to as a Barker Hi-Power 3500. I guess somebody just decided to claim a higher rating based on a new motor or something.

So, it turns out that we accidentally bought a cheaper jack. No real issues, as 3,000 pounds is still 3,000 pounds. New jack is 2" in diameter, while old jack was 2.25" in diameter, which may also explain why it seemed a bit lighter in weight. New jack also works fine, no groaning, but it doesn't have some of the fancier features such as a precision ball screw and limit switch shutoff.

https://www.barkermfg.com/hi-power-3500.html

I also learned that part of the reason for the lean in our jack may have been that Airstream put a washer between jack and frame for the front bolt but not the other two. I had been blaming myself 100% because of a small backing incident with the jack down last year - sandy soil, no visible damage, but the jack always seemed more lean-y after that. Anyway, for this install I put washers between jack and frame in all three places which straightened out the new jack nicely relative to the old one - more than you might expect. Funny how a few millimeters adds up over the length of a jack. Looks better now, so maybe that lean wasn't all caused by me. (That single washer was a toothed washer designed to ensure connectivity to the frame for the negative terminal. The jack is grounded to the frame, not the battery's negative terminal. Barker provides 3 such washers in the kit, but Airstream used only one, perhaps because just one would make it functional. So, if your jack seems to lean back too much for no apparent reason, take a look to see whether that was done to your trailer too.)

Despite this parts confusion, the replacement went smoothly though I'm far slower than a real mechanic. I get to buy tools, try the process a few different ways until I like it, play with the wiring, etc. If / when we use up or burn out the cheaper jack, we'll switch back to the more expensive version above.

Hi, I should buy one of those for my Yamaha 2400. Is that just an induction wire to the spark plug wire? Does the meter need a battery to work?
