Ryobi 2200 W generator Inverter in Airstream Camo; actually Silver and black to match the AS. $599 at HD. Haven't had time to use it other than start and run for 30 minutes.

What did you get for your Trailer today?

New group 27 batteries, using Lewster's trick of dropping them in sideways. (Barely, barely fits, no mods to the case except for tossing the plastic tray...they don't fit the tray anyhow.)

Oh and made a couple of 2/0 gauge cables to connect the batteries in parallel vs those pathetic 6 awg cables Airstream used at the factory.

Looks like more of a rats' nest than it is. All positive wires go to one battery, all negative wires go to the other, and the 2 batteries are connected via the beastly 2/0 cables so the pair can act like one battery, no fooling around.

Lessons learned:
(1) Chargers always work better once you plug the trailer in. Had a panicked few moments where nothing I did with the charger seemed to make any difference, even though the cable was plugged in and the battery switch was in "Use." Thank goodness I remembered I had un-plugged the cable from the trailer while I was working on the batteries.
(2) The power jack wire goes on the positive battery terminal, even though the wire is black. Hah!

A totally unnecessary but cute cotton towel with trailers on it.

Suggest putting a couple of rounds of red tape at each end on the positive battery cable for positive (pardon the pun) identification down the road after sleeping for a few months....

Good idea! I also came up with some ideas for cleaning up the wiring layout so it looks better and is easier to follow. It's right, but it's messier than I would like. Will try that tomorrow and if it works, post another more attractive image.

I need to do the same. I keep adding to my rats net. An external junction box is in the works. I think West Marine has water proof marine junction boxs that will do the trick.

Don't think Rocinante needs an external junction box yet. When we add a shunt to help us measure all amps in and out of the batteries, that should result in a single lead from shunt to batteries for at least one side of the circuit.

Will also shop for more battery terminal covers for the positive terminals, as I don't particularly care for exposed red connections once things are wired up.

Oh and per Lewster, I'll replace all wing nuts with SS flange nuts as any wires thicker than 8AWG are too big for wing nuts.

Got tired of the increasing noise and intermittent leaking from my old water pump. Ordered, received and installed today a new SHURflo 4008-101-E65 3.0 Revolution Water Pump and SHURFLO 94-591-01 Pump Silencing Kit from Amazon. So quite I had to open the cabinet door to hear it. Higher and more consistent pressure than the old pump. New strainer arriving tomorrow.

A 50 amp female to (2) 30 amp male adapter so when we go to Salmon Lake Park in Grapeland, TX we can plug in to (2) 30 amp receptacles and run both a/c units, or a hair dryer and the microwave...
We have gone 6 times before and got by plugging into (1) 30 amp receptacle.
Every year I said, "I need to build or buy one of those adapters."
You can buy it already made about as inexpensive as you can buy all the parts and build it yourself.
