Working on a separate post, took lots of photos of install today.
Just curious as to the brand name of this item. I've seen a lot of composting toilets but never seen this one.

Composting Toilet Venting

Is there a valve to prevent the black water tank from venting into the composting toilet instead of vice versa?

There is no valve, the composting toilet is closed on the bottom so nothing can get in there. All you have to do is cap off the hole in toilet flange. The blacktank is vented. Any fumes will go up the stack just like they would with a regular toilet.

I have a thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f382...ll-146271.html ask questions there. But basically the toilet also has a fan, pushing air out. It's not going in.

Received my Renogy 100 watt suitcase solar system today. Of course we are experiencing another storm front, fog and 100% overcast at least until Thursday. I have run the batteries down to about 60% to give the system a good test. Now all I need is sun.

Forgive the puny, question, will 5 watts of solar keep 2 fully charged stock batteries from going dead while unit is in storage? Parasitic drain = CO detector.

In a very thoughtful, careful, real-world test, someone here posted their results that showed that you don't need to maintain your batteries with a charger while in storage. They do not go dead. As long as you remove all current draws. You could just remove the cables from the battery posts.

If you take your rig in and out of storage, a more convenient method is to add a switch to the wire behind the the LP/CO detector(s).

In the last week or so:

Pneumaatic struts to hold the dinette seats up to access the storage beneath.

Furrion DV 3100 stereo center and the final speaker.

Exterior stainless steel bottle opener.

It's not "doctor;" those are just my initials.

But here's the bottle opener, mounted on a rib just forward of the aft awning arm. I used 1/4 x 20 stainless Riv-Nuts with Sikaflex, and 1/4 x 20 stainless oval head machine screws. The trailer is half a mile away, so maybe pictures later if you want.

Just got home from installing a "regular" china bowl toilet in my Airstream. Not quite the 5 minute experience described. The water line was the challenge. It is a 1/2" NPT and the Dometic toilet water inlet is horizontal not vertical like the Thetford Aqua IV it replaced. I ended up getting a stainless faucet hose and adapted the end of the trailer water line with a 2" yard sprinkler plastic 1/2" riser.

Now I am working on getting a new sofa- I know, STILL. I bounce between Villa International and Flexsteel Easy Bed. I have sat on both and they are comfortable MUCH more so than the jackknife. There is an $800 difference and the only real difference is the back design. The Villa is the same one they used in the Classic. The flex steel 4075 is used in many motorhomes- totally different from my flex steel model OEM.
