These stupid little red things that hold the bikes won't stay in place. They slide around freely. As you drive along, the wind pushes the bikes closer and closer to the grill. I was afraid of a pedal scratching or breaking the grill so I went to Plan B:

From now until then, I'm gonna try putting hose clamps behind the red plastic pieces to keep them in place.

What did you get for your trailer today

well, a bunch of stuff. The 31' 84 limited I am picking up next week never had any sway control or Weight distribution in its 31 years of existence. There is not one hole in the A-frame
So I will have to do a field install of a Reese straight line WD system, check the bearings and slap some Centramatics on the wheels.
Onward...

Not all weight distributing/sway control hitch systems require holes-
EazLift required holes for the sway control brake shoe bar thingy-
Equal-i-zer did not require holes-

The Hensley Arrow requires two holes on each side of the frame rail and the ProPride does not need any holes......

That Walmart bike rack looks very similar to the one I bought at U-Haul. It is intended to go behind a car or truck, where there is little air pressure to push the rubber mounts on the pipes. Adding spacers to immobilize the locations of the rubber mounts would be one way to prevent the rubber mounts from being moved by the air pressure when using the rack on the front of a vehicle.

I guess the red things move to be "adjustable", but after adjustment there should be a way to make them steadfast.
It has been on the back of a car- in the tent campin' days-

Adding weight to front of truck will effect weight distribution. More on front axels.

Amazon has bike rack like wanting for about $200. Also CW has it. My choice, as that is I went to after probs with kind you had/have. Support bike on wheels, not frame.

I actually need more weight transferred to the front axle, although I can't imagine the bikes and rack could weigh much over 60-70#. Maybe the fact is is cantilevered out the front makes it have an affect of a weight greater than 70#?

My replacement $25 roll of LEDs for the top of the belt line. Used orange hand cleaner to remove all the goo. Surface 100% clean but I'm not expecting these to last a full season 😳

Enjoying them now.

I gave a weekend of labor to our 27 FB. I installed classic casting on all marker lights and sealed with Acryl R. Then treated all rivets to a corrosion X massage. Lastly, a bubble bath.
This weekend a trip to the mountains.

For my trailer...

As I visit many venues and chat with nearly everyone, this was given to me as a gift somewhere along Historic Route 66. I suspect someone, LOL, might like it...
