Finally got around to replacing the three panels I ordered this spring. Oh, what fun it is. Took me 2 weekends, 3 tubes of Vulkem and 250 rivets to do all three.

REALLY!? I thought it was like $3 a foot. How good a job do they do....that's hardly worth doing it yourself.

They missed some spots on the curved areas at the top. I will get it done again at a different Blue Beacon in a couple of weeks. I just really don't have the time or energy to do it myself.
I am glad it is not $3 a foot- that would be $90!
I think they do consider the length because sometimes they ask how long it is.
There is a chart they go by.
I have taken 16' and 24' cargo trailers towed by a Chevy Express van through the truck wash.

Amazon and Home Despot claimed more of my cash, as I added a Makita Big Bore MAC2400air compressor, Ingersoll Rand accessory kit, and some Camco RV blow out adaptors to aid in winterization and tire duties.

I stressed a bit on the choice of compressor. Don't have room for a large 10plus gallon model, nor was I thrilled with the noise and recharge times of the Porter Cable pancakes. The Makita got good reviews and was quieter, but twice the heft of the pancake models. At high CFM and quick recharge times, I am hoping it is not limiting for winterization because the 4.2 gallon dual tank capacity.

A bit pricey compared to cheaper options, but for tools I have a "Cry once" rule that's never disappointed.

I bought 3 of these nifty "Luci" solar lanterns. They are inflatable & weigh only 4 oz. The website is www.mpowerd.com Here's a picture of my son fine dining in the light of the lantern! It's going in my suitcase for nighttime fishing in the Keys later this winter :-). They cost about $15 each. Really slick!

Although not done today, this summer I made my wife a kitchen shelf - she has been giving me earache to do so for years!!

Took an angle grinder to an Apple Power Mac G5 computer to obtain a nice piece of curved aluminium, purchased a length of particle board and brackets from a local hardware store and produced a shelf for tea/coffee/sugar canisters, etc.

I'm seriously tempted to start a Hall of Fame thread for these kinds of things - that repurposed Apple case would have to go in there!! Love it! There are hundreds of these kinds of creative solutions everybody does - like those birch rounds converted to corner shelves - aww forget it - the whole dang thread is HoF! :-)

Picked up a nifty set of silicon collapsible bowls, cups, and storage containers, priced right at $55. With space at a premium, I like the ability to have a full set of containers that easily store and clean up simply. The three large bowls are like salad servers (really big, one is a collander); the two square ones have sealing lids, and the odd shaped one is a funnel. Not really sure what I'd use that one for. Other two small ones are cups. They come with a mesh bag, and fold down to about 5 inches stacked. Perfect for salads, mixing bowls, and storing left overs.

Use funnel to pour bleach into fresh water tank? Use for motor oil? Or to pour water into batteries?
