Storage above propane tanks

Made me a shelf that will allow me to store my power cable and a few other small items in the space above my propane tanks. Freeing up some room in the back storage of my 23D

Of what material did you make the shelf?

I have a 22FB Sport 2016 that came with the Plastic tank covers. The new 2017's have the alum. boxed cover like the rest of the AS line. I did a little research to find the cost of trading out the covers. The plastic ones can be found on line for less than $30. But, AS wants something like $700! Forget that!

Nice idea...you have but I'm not going to spend that kind of money to gain what you have in storage....have to come up with another idea. Probably a lightweight plastic tool type chest that I can set on top of the batter boxes....I've have two batteries on my unit.

GMFL,

Just wanted to say thanks for the idea. Finished my first attempt using 1/2 plywood and hammered silver paint. Will try again later using starboard or equivalent. None was available locally for this try.
It is a great way to use an empty area for more storage.

The King Jack antenna doesn't work.
It won't power on.
The red light does not light up.
I guess back on with the Winegard antenna head.

The Sunbrella fabric arrived for the Caravel upholstery. The new foam should be here by the end of the week. :-) might just get to use the trailer this year.

Have you contacted the manufacturer?

I will.
I'm just sure they're closed on Saturday and Sunday.
When am I going to climb on top of a trailer and change out the TV antenna? Yep. Saturday or Sunday.

The well know YouTube Chanel....Long..Long Honeymoon...did a review on the Broan small ceramic heater. I did some research on that and other brands and found that their recommendation was valid so I ordered one. Small in size ( 6 x 6 x 6")...all metal with a 1500 watt rating is a winner. Here's a link:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Another thing was giving up on the JVC original equipment radio/DVD player that comes in the 2016 22FB Sport. Mine only worked part time....especially when it was taken to the dealer for a warranty claim. Worked perfectly. Last fall on a three week 5000 plus mile trip it refused to work the whole trip. Upon our return as I pulled up our trailer up the mountain to our home I found the radio working! The other day as I was preparing the trailer for the new season....after extracting it out it's deep snow parking place and putting the batteries back on the trailer I found the radio working. As I set to work on other items within the trailer...the darn thing quit. So, I am replacing it with a Kenwood single din radio/bluetooth/DVD player that features a folding 6" screen. I may have to do some mods to the roll up cabinet cover where the radio is mounted ...as in removing it completely. If that turns out to be the case I'll find a work around.

Also during our 3 week cross country trip I often found the contents of the ward rob and one of the overhead roll up cabinets laying on the floor. So I found "netting" that now covers the top of the wardrobe and the bottom portion of the closet. Here's a link:

http://www.organizedobie.com/categor...r-Stretch-Nets

So far I've installed three of four nets that I've ordered. Works great and once I'm parked I can pull the netting off it's hooks in seconds. No more junk on the floor.

The final action will be the installation of the Honeywell Water detection system. Here's a link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one will be installed in the area of the water pump and the piping running under the galley cabinets. I intend to add an additional unit in the area of the water heater.

Another project that I've started is replacing the cabinet hinges. I don't know how many times I've had doors come off in my hands. So far I've had one replaced under "warranty". They claim the others just needed adjustment. To me "adjustment" means you put the door back on with new hardware. I can't believe AS puts such "junk" on their trailers. I found an exact styled replacement of a cabinet hinge so I bought two for the closet/wardrobe door. As the season goes the rest of the cabinets will also get new hardware.

Our first trip is planned for mid April....so now I'm experiencing the "labour of love" prepping "Milley" for our 2nd season together.

Photo Please

Sure would like to see a photo, if possible of your install of the netting in the closet. Thanks

Thanks for the link on the nets. After watching the video on the Basecamp I have been considering adding some nets along the bottom of the dinette edge in the aisle to add storage. Also may do one by the door.

If I do this it won't be until late spring, so won't be pictures any time soon

How did you attach them?
