Not what I got but what I need.
We are using old disposable salt and pepper shakers. The rounds with the twist thingy on top. We have to keep them in a zip lock bag because they leak. I have seen several different sets while on trips but I always get shot down by the wife because they won't stay sitting up or they are glass they will break or they don't look nice or any number of other reasons. Anyone have any recommendations that might pass muster for travel in an Airstream.
Please lets not get into the merits of sea salt over regular old iodized salt or red pepper versus black pepper or fresh ground over store bought or any of the other virtues of salt and pepper.
Lets try to keep this on track about the style of shakers that travel good, don't fall over easily and are durable and my wife would like cute thrown in there also.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Air Tight Salt & Pepper Shakers
Hickory,
I have one of these vintage Daniells Hinged Salt Shakers that I picked up at a thrift store for a few dollars. If you like retro and the fact that these really work you can't go wrong. These are no longer made but can be found on ebay, thrift stores.
www.ebay.com/itm/DANIELLS-Hinged-Salt-Pepper-Shakers-1950s-Diner-Style-RETRO-Diamond-Glass-/122148915099?hash=item1c70a4879b:g:cBgAAOSwFV9X0JM C[/url]
These are glass, but I have never had a problem with it.

What did you get for your Trailer today?
I have a very old set of lids that go on black plastic Kodak 35mm film canisters. They are clear with s smaller snap-down cap over the shaker. No clue as to where you would find the lids or the canisters nowadays. Try looking at REI, BassPro or some other camping store.
Darn, now I'm making me feel old...got those when the first kid was in Boy Scouts.

Mounted antennas to get 4G LTE signals into the trailer and WiFi LAN signals out for use around the campsite.
Wired and installed a 3-socket 12V outlet in the cabinet above the dinette. They will power a booster and a LTE/WiFi router, which I already have in waiting.
Antenna cables (LMR400 flex) arrived today. Next huge step is to decide exactly how I'm going to route the cables and then do that, bringing them inside to start hooking things up.
I'll post pictures and such when the job is done and working.

It's in the brick and mortar at Bed Bath and Beyond but I cannot find it anywhere on their web site. I saw that product for the first time 2 days ago, and if I didn't already have one of the silicone fold-down ones, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

HA HA!
I bought the same ones back in my back packing days! Translucent lids and the black film tube.

Good question. I have two that I use, but both have pros and cons. This visual aid I created a few months ago explains them. The big problem that we have in our area is humidity. I don't know how to find a simple design that is also air-tight. The GSI is air-tight but it's a pain in the neck to use.

I have the full set of the Coghlans spices, three containers in a rack. The black pepper is the only one that is not hard and dried out less than a year old. The compartments are not refillable and the top is not removable without resorting to destructive measures.

Steamy is right. I bought it in a home store but the one on amazon is the exact product.

Really happy with it. When it's folded up it fits perfectly in the pantry.

Check out the Umbra line; We have purchased and use several items in our two Airstreams, including the drying mat. We also have the folding coat hooks, stainless steel ribbon clock (previously posted; clean the battery contact points), starfish shower drain cover, magnetic key and mail organizer. Lots of fun items.

I wanted to get pads to put under my levelers and looked at the hushpad II.
I realised I could make my own for a fraction of the price using heavy duty stair tread made of recycled rubber that I got at Home depot. One utility knife, 5 minutes of my time and voila. I chose the 10 inch by 36 inch model that I cut in four but they are available in other dimensions as well.

I've been a happy lurker on the forums since we picked up our 2015 Serenity 25FB. The amount of quality information on this forum is second to none. That being said, it's not as much as what I DID get as much as what I NEED to get..... I got a call from the in-laws last night that our Serenity got broken into at the storage lot. Whoever decided that they needed to see the inside used a screwdriver to jimmy both locks and then looked around. They didn't appear to take anything, but it appears that they ripped a couple of screens and left a bunch of muddy foot prints. All in all it could have been much worse. (Let's work on the glass half full theory). But to the question at hand - I did a forum search and a google search for lock replacement and came up amazingly empty. The in-laws report that the door frame is intact, but that the lock cores for the door and deadbolt are ruined. Has anyone got any suggestions about replacing just the cores, or am I looking a a couple of hundred bucks to replace the whole door lock and dead bolt mechanism? The trailer is a couple of hundred miles away, so I would like to have parts in hand before I make the trip.

sorry to hear about this... given the circumstances, you might consider filing an insurance claim and have a local locksmith handle the repairs for you.
Jackson Center can help you identify the parts from your trailer's serial number.
ymmv.

Very sorry to hear. These days the bar seems lowering for those to try and take.
If a screwdriver was to gain access, pretty scary. The wrong key won't get that far.
Wondering possibly did they drill the keyway first?

Welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about troubles -- amazing how thoughtless people can be.
May I suggest that you start a new topic in the Doors & Locks sub-forum, so that this thread can retain its focus on recent purchases of helpful misc. add-on items? You will reach a more focused audience there:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f453/
Good luck with obtaining the new correct lock. Personally I would replace the entire lockset, as that should give you more dependability down the road, not to mention ease of installation. Your insurance may help, depending on your deductible, although you probably can't charge for your labor (but could for a locksmith's labor?)
Happy Trails!
Peter
