There's a better way to connect batteries

About the battery installation....the picture shows the positive and negative main cables connected to the same battery. This does and will work, but it is not optimal. The battery with the main cables connected will do slightly more of the work. Over time, that battery will wear just a bit more than the other.

The preferred way to connect the main cables is to have the main positive cable on one, and the main negative cable on the other. The Airstream factory hooks them up this way. Airstream doesn't make the cables overly long; I hope you have enough extra length on yours to make the change.

Easy enough to see that the awning is set at the lowest level, the arms are not pulled out and not set for actual use. Photo was strictly for visual effect. The pink noodles are the brightest I could find with the added benefit of adding some padding for skull protection.

I have one blue one for the awning arm near the door. I figure I'm more likely to run my head into that one.

Bumper End Caps

I ordered and received and installed these bumper end caps. Looks good and just may save my shins and knees.

A link to the page where those rubber baby buggy bumpers can be found would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Are they glued in place or just a very tight fit that holds then in place? Thanks

Thanks! It was always set up this way but we bought it used. I'll switch the around.

I was told they can only be bought through a dealer. I ordered mine from from the parts department at Colonial Airstream in Lakewood, NJ. They are relatively inexpensive at about $3 per plus shipping.

I was not informed of the part number.

So there is no link but I hope that helps.
