Sparkly storage cube
Today I was minding my own business when this sparkly cube jumped off the shelf and into the cart! It will be used next to the door for shoe storage and then presto it becomes an ottoman when slid over about 8"!

Hmmm... I like this idea.

New Pad
Although it's taken about a few days to actually do the work, today I finished a new pad for the Airstream. I like to keep her close to home so that I can do work on it easily, pack easily and most importantly my son is looking forward to some backyard camping.
Next up is a small fire pit to really get that camping feeling.

We bought a propane fire pit this spring from Amazon, and I thought it was the silliest thing. However, my wife absolutely loves the fact that there is no smoke! I've really come to enjoy the fact that we can have a fire for 10 minutes and then turn it off when we're done.

I got a 1,200 watt hot oil DeLonghi electric heater for our 66 Tradewind. It is quiet, stable and looks a little like an Airstream to me. It costs $80 from Amazon. It heats the 40 sq ft bedroom area just fine.

Thanks mostly to the info on the forum we kept Amazon busy this week, receiving the following in time for picking up our trailer:
-Progressive Industries EMS-PT30C surge protector
-Sewer solutions kit
-Weber Go Grill
-lodge combo-kit dutch oven/fry pan
-Corelle 6pc dish set
-various kitchen supplies.

Finally got the gaucho up and running thanks to Reinergirl! More photos on my blog. Wanted a retro 50s vibe so I think the plaid works! Just bought a can of Voyager Brown paint from Ace Hardware to paint all the edges on the doors, drawers, and cabinets.

Great Gaucho
Your Gaucho looks great. I also looked at your blog to get the full idea and really liked how you built it around the fresh water tank. Also kept reading, very nice job. The lantern to led and flor tiles are a possibility for us also. Thanks for the inspiration. We have a blank slate up front, no gaucho, no dinette and would like to consider recliners but the tank likely will go under the window.

Not necessarily for the trailer, but for the trip- a chimney charcoal starter.
Y'all wanna tell me how to use it?

Like for your charcoal grill?
We fill ours with charcoal and crumple up 2 full newspaper sheets to stuff in the bottom side of the chimney. Light the paper then stand the chimney up on the bottom rack of the grill (top rack removed). After 15 minutes or so, the coals are gray and ready to empty on the bottom grill. Works really great!!

Picked up the new trailer today, and added the excellent Mega Hitch lock (silver Airstream edition) for when we're away. Built like a vault!
Also replaced the wimpy trailer brake breakaway cable pin with a nicer coiled unit that should last a while and not get chewed up in the chains.

lara, never run the break away cable through the chains! read up on chain and cable management:
Airstream Forums - Search Results
i don't think it would be easy to properly adjust the cable if it is self coiling.

New license plates. In Missouri the DMV allows you to get year specific plates on trailers so I went to the DMV yesterday and got all the paperwork for the 1978 trailer plate I bought off if ebay.

When did they change that reg? Never could do that in the past. I just checked the DMV site and trailers are not listed as a plate that you can personalize. They do allow RV's but trailers don't fit into this classification. You may want to check before you make your reservation only to find out that they won't give you the plate at registration when you attempt to assign it to your trailer.
