I agree with Ken. The PO had a foam topper on the mattress which was very soft. We removed the topper to find that the original mattress without is exceptionally firm and comfortable for the three of us (Bodie included, our Lab). Different folks have different tastes in sleep comfort. As an aside, we purchased two bamboo pillows at the Tampa RV show two years ago and we find them really comfortable.

AS Name Change

Well, our AS is going to be Dora from now on. I wanted King's Landing (nickname is King) but the wife is insistent we call her Dora. So I got some stickers to put in the rear window and next to the entry

Yep; the same for us ... we moved the memory foam when we traded ... the MF makes a HUGE difference especially for the princess that accompanies me.

Name and mattress

My Serenity is named Alana.

As to the mattress, I have a four inch feather bed on top of my mattress. This gives a soft surface on the firm mattress and also gives more air circulation on top of the mattress.

One caveat.....every couple days or so, one must beat the feathers back into place as they tend to migrate. But, this is like in the old days.....when we traveled in the covered wagons....

Thumbs up

Picked up a mount and LG Ultra-wide display for the rear office/bedroom.

Just need a nice way to organize my drives, cables and Macbook when docked.

Thinking about a Henge Dock since I owned one in the past.

I just bought a "Joby Gorillatorch Flare 125 LED Flashlight With Strobe". This is normally $35, but for one day only, the price is $14.95. It's a B&H Photo "Deal of the Day" and it's while supplies last. The deal will end at 9PM Pacific on Friday 6/19.

From the looks of it, I think it would come in real handy. It's a flashlight with Gorillapod flexible tripod legs. Great reviews at the site as well as on Amazon. There's even a video. FREE SHIPPING & depending on where you live -there's no sales tax (no tax for people who live in Washington state).

Here's the link:
Deal Zone, Deal of the Day at B&H

Note: The link changes to a new deal each day.

I finally got adequate insurance coverage for my 2007 Safari 20. I bought it through
Ronald L. Jarvie
Certified Insurance Counselor
Overland Insurance Services
480-994-9584 or 800-677-4027
Ron Jarvie <ron@rvins.com>

He gave me the contact information for
Valuation and Identification Solutions
AudaExplore, a Solera company | O: 800.351.3133, ext. 7449
to get an appraisal done, which came in just a little less than I paid last year. I also took an AARP safe driver seminar online in April, which resulted in a discount for my Airstream insurance premium and my car insurance.

Net result:
Vehicle:
2007 20’ Airstream Safari
Agreed Value @ $33,795 ( insured value )

COVERAGES:

$ 500,000 - Campsite / Vacation Premises Liability
Towing & Roadside ( 100 Mile Limit or up to $750 Reimbursement )
$ 1,000 - Comprehensive Deductible
$ 1,000 - Collision Deductible
Vanishing Deductible ( $100 credit applied in 30 days )
Total Loss "Market Value"Coverage *
$ 750 - Emergency Expense Coverage ( $200 per day )
$ 3,000 - Personal Effects ( replacement basis - $250 ded. )
$ 1,000 - Custom Equipment ( tow bars, dollies & additions after purchase )

Premium: $ 337.41 per year( on above package )

* "Agreed Value"- Pays the insured value in event of a total loss.

Discounts applied: Paid-in-Full, Homeowner, Prior Insurance, RV Club & Driving Course
Rate program: Occupied less than150 days per year (no mileage limit)

Now, that makes me happy!

I just ordered a set for our Cloud. The cheap plastic ones on our trailer spin and half the set screws can't tighten because they are broken. Can't wait to put these on!
