Is there a valve to prevent the black water tank from venting into the composting toilet instead of vice versa?

There is no valve, the composting toilet is closed on the bottom so nothing can get in there. All you have to do is cap off the hole in toilet flange. The blacktank is vented. Any fumes will go up the stack just like they would with a regular toilet.

I have a thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f382...ll-146271.html ask questions there. But basically the toilet also has a fan, pushing air out. It's not going in.

Received my Renogy 100 watt suitcase solar system today. Of course we are experiencing another storm front, fog and 100% overcast at least until Thursday. I have run the batteries down to about 60% to give the system a good test. Now all I need is sun.

Forgive the puny, question, will 5 watts of solar keep 2 fully charged stock batteries from going dead while unit is in storage? Parasitic drain = CO detector.

In a very thoughtful, careful, real-world test, someone here posted their results that showed that you don't need to maintain your batteries with a charger while in storage. They do not go dead. As long as you remove all current draws. You could just remove the cables from the battery posts.

If you take your rig in and out of storage, a more convenient method is to add a switch to the wire behind the the LP/CO detector(s).

In the last week or so:

Pneumaatic struts to hold the dinette seats up to access the storage beneath.

Furrion DV 3100 stereo center and the final speaker.

Exterior stainless steel bottle opener.

It's not "doctor;" those are just my initials.

But here's the bottle opener, mounted on a rib just forward of the aft awning arm. I used 1/4 x 20 stainless Riv-Nuts with Sikaflex, and 1/4 x 20 stainless oval head machine screws. The trailer is half a mile away, so maybe pictures later if you want.

Just got home from installing a "regular" china bowl toilet in my Airstream. Not quite the 5 minute experience described. The water line was the challenge. It is a 1/2" NPT and the Dometic toilet water inlet is horizontal not vertical like the Thetford Aqua IV it replaced. I ended up getting a stainless faucet hose and adapted the end of the trailer water line with a 2" yard sprinkler plastic 1/2" riser.

Now I am working on getting a new sofa- I know, STILL. I bounce between Villa International and Flexsteel Easy Bed. I have sat on both and they are comfortable MUCH more so than the jackknife. There is an $800 difference and the only real difference is the back design. The Villa is the same one they used in the Classic. The flex steel 4075 is used in many motorhomes- totally different from my flex steel model OEM.

I installed that toilet awhile ago and posted a thread outlining how to install it including the needed fittings. Could of saved you some time.

Sorry, also I see that someone said
3-4 Ah / day. This little 5 watt might offset it......

5 watt bungee d to tank cover while in storage. It will either work or be a waste of $45. This with my PD4655 might help me keep my batteries in better shape. If not, 100 Watts to the roof. I am certain that my fear of over charging while on shore power has kept me from adequately charging the batteries. So we were dead after 6 weeks of storage.

A few small items:
2x ivation ersdm18 dehumidifiers to replace my 1 Eva-dry unit, I can now put one at each end of the trailer, these are a more convenient size/shape.

Oxo grill kit, tongs and flipper

Grease gun and Royal purple grease (for propride)

Chamois to make wiping the Windows easier

Replacement and spare grill igniter. This POS die quicker that butterflies...

Last but not least, we got a heated mattress pad... What a game changer for cold camping with shore power... We got a queen with 2 zones. I swear it has fixed my back problems!!!!

Went to one of the many Tucson Gem and Mineral Show venues and came back with this for the cabin at Battle Lake. Or should we work this into a new decor theme in our Airstream? Somehow it's not working with aluminum and golden oak, we need a new Pendleton Nat'l Park Special Edition.

Shut up.

Yeah, we all seem to be on the same path on all this stuff. Maybe we should go for GROUP Rate! Yes, 100 toilets please for Airforum- we are just full of it, now what discount?

I still have to check out that spot on my floor. It may be nothing as the new 26U had a bump like it too. I hope it is nothing but I will still have to put in a floor after the fact. So I should be posting a new latex bed, new floor and new sofa in the near future--here. Then I should be about done for a while.
