found a tow hitch cover LED brake light at harbor freight. it plugs into the 4 pole connector and when not towing i have another very bright brake light. for $8.95 it is cool as sh*t. what can i say?

I vote Lifeline. All the reviews I've seen say they are #1 with Trojan being #2. Optima are much further down the list. Lifelines aren't cheap, however.

when adding ALL those panels and batteries, how much weight is added to the trailer?
Battery weight will vary due to kind (AGM, wet or Li. etc.). Also, what is the return on $$$ and how often will they be used? All this vs generator.

In April of 2014, the Lifeline model 6ct (300 amp-hours at 6Vdc and 92 pounds each) were $420.00 each. They are rated for 50% power use.

We installed four on our Classic in series and parallel to end up with 12Vdc and 600 amp-hours with 300 amp-hours useable. With the custom stainless steel battery box and batteries mounted on the tongue, the tongue weight was 1,375 pounds. After removing that assembly and placing a 600 amp-hour lithium battery that weighs 168 pounds inside under the sofa (has a 80 to 85% power availability) the tongue weight was reduced to 1,175 pounds.

The lithium was nearly three times the cost of the four Lifelines.

Basically I found a YouTube video about the procedure. It is not precise. However it gives the basics. Which I could figure out the rest.

Solar 14.5lbs * 4 = 58lbs added

Li batteries 400Ah = 112lbs

Li 400Ah with 80% usable = 320Ah

12v group 27 Costco battery @ 50lbs each 100lbs at 90Ah = 180Ah with 50% usable 90Ah.

They'll be used every day.

I've done the cost breakdown if you'd like to know how long it takes for solar to hit break even on the generator. It's not long at all if you are a fulltimer like me.

As others have done, we added this hatch support (spring design) to hold open the long, heavy swing-up mirror in the bathroom of the 27, 25FB and other units. $25 from West Marine; cheaper elsewhere. We went with the heavier duty 12" version, but the lighter duty unit would likely work just as well. (The light duty version is perfect for the swing-up door above the fridge.) Very easy to install, and does the job quite well. Joe

Isn't a spring like that for the purpose of keeping a cover from opening too much and flopping all the way back? I would imagine that a support to keep an upward opening cover open, one would need a rigid support along the lines of a sliding bar with another bar inside that catches at a certain degree of extension, then is released by a button or some mechanism like that. How does an extended spring keep the upward opening cover from dropping closed?

You press on the middle of he spring and it collapses on itself. I have them on all my cockpit seat hatches on my sailboat. I have the simple solid bar type on my medicine cabinet. purchased at Amazon for considerably less than the WM spring type

As Ron said, the spring is rigid when straight, then releases when you cause it to bend by pushing on its center when closing. Open the door, and it straightens and turns rigid again. Joe

The bathroom mirror on our 23' Safari has a simple sliding rail that when the mirror fully extends, it drops into the screw thing on the back of the mirror and it stays put. To lower, just slightly lift the mirror and the rail can come out of the screw retainer and the mirror can then drop down. It thought it came from the factory like that. Maybe the PO added it. Anyway, it's very simple, like a lady's jewelry box lid holder.

the bathroom mirrows did come with that however when AS had to replace my mirror (it was still under warranty at the time) I was told that they no longer used the sliding rail as it was not strong enough to hold the mirror. I now hold the mirrow open when i need something from the cabinet and then immedaitely close it.

I have been thinking about adding some type of spring loaded or some other type of bar to keep it open
