I was going to use the simple green on the interior. Is that ok? I read it in the forum. For exterior I was considering citrus goopy something I read and or an acid wash at a dealer. It's about $400 at a truck wash in Tacoma or at this place called Ryan's RV in Everett, WA.

I would think the acid wash would definetly be a no no on aluminum. It is used on commercial vehicles made out of stainless steel.

Stove Vent Upgrade

Missy got tired of banging her head on the sharp corners of the original stove vent.

According to their FAQ - This product was initially developed for use in the aircraft industry and extensive testing shows it to be safe for use on aluminum, plastics, rubber, and high tech alloys, in both normal and extreme temperatures and stress conditions. Extreme Simple Green passed a variety of aircraft industry tests. Testing has been performed by Scientific Materials International, Inc. and is available upon request. However on another part of their web site they also state that usage can speed corrosion if used on an unprotected aluminum with water. DO NOT use for longer than 10 min and ensure you thoroughly rinse the area.

Your pole barn is lovely! My husband and I are hoping to find a piece of land in the Blue Ridge or Smokey Mountains to do just this. What part of the Blue Ridge are you in? Great, great job!!

DO NOT take an AS to a truck wash. Acid will cause premature hazing and aging of the finish. Wash the exterior in the same manner you would an $80,000 car. Would you consider spraying an S-Class Mercedes with industrial acids? Use mild car wash detergents (NOT dish soap) and a good quality wax or sealer like Walbernize. Spot cleaning stubborn spots with things like bug and tar remover or bleach is okay.

You don't have to get it sprayed with acid at a truck wash.
The acid, or "brightener", is optional- it is to "brighten certain parts of the truck (semi/tractor/18 wheeler) like diamond plate tool boxes, storage bins, and steps.
They will ask if I want "brightener". I'll say, "No."
The basic wash is just hot water and soap- you can wash anything with soap and water- even a Bentley, Rolls, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, etc.
They do offer Rain-X or an equivalent less expensive wax.
I will take my truck and trailer through the Blue Beacon truck wash in Shreveport Monday.
I get the truck and trailer washed, the less-expensive-than Rain-X wax, and tire shine (Armor-All) for $35.
I have been taking trucks and trailers through truck washes for over 10 years with no ill effects.
My trailer still looks new except for hail dings.

Two LED bulbs for the Baraldi contraption over the stove top and an LED for the power jack. Next on the list, once I save up, will be the little light at the dump valves. Why? I never use it. Right. Forget it. Ok. Jim

An REI screen house with a rain fly to put over picnic tables anchored too far from the trailer to fit under the awning. REI had their "garage sale" today, so we got a screaming deal. Other than a couple of missing stakes, it was in pristine condition. We have plenty of tent extra stakes, so no problem there.

It should serve beautifully for buggy, overly sunny, and/or light rain conditions when it would otherwise be pleasant to sit at an outdoor table.
