Western U.S. Fly Fishing Airstreams

We live in Idaho and do lots of fly fishing especially in Montana. Was wondering if there is a group of AS owners that gather around fly fishing trips etc.

We live in the Chicagoland area and would be interested in Airstream fly fishing gatherings in the Midwest. Any others?

I don't know of a group like that but we'd be on it in a heartbeat if there were. I lived in BZN for quite a while and now reside in CO. Still have lots of close friends in MT.

Have you taken your AS out on trips in MT? If so, where and which spots did you like?

I finished a float on the Stone with a friend of mine and when we put out, there was a guy camping with a truck camper and a honda generator at the putout on the river in Paradise Valley. I noted the location for a future outing as he had the place to himself.

I belong to a women's fly fishing group here in CO and they organize camping/group trips almost every weekend of the spring, summer and fall but it is not limited to Airstreams. It's a lot of fun since the group trips provide a lot of camaraderie and everyone participating loves fishing.

Nice thread!

Fly Fishing

I would be interested in doing some fly fishing while airstreaming.

We travel in an Airstream and I never leave home without a flyrod and waders. Going to fish a few days in Livingstone before we start the landmarks west caravan this summer and will fish for several weeks on the way home after it is over. It is hard to get in much fishing while on a caravan but I do manage some days in good spots on the way.

I'm thinking about starting a trout fishing caravan in Missouri in a few years. We have some good state parks that you can fly fish trout in and I'm planing to do a caravan that will do all of them in the state of Missouri. We have 5 parks for fly fishing!

I am packing my AS with my float tube even....I definitely would be interested in such an idea.

I would also be interested in a National fishing permit instead of one for each state. Similar to the National Parks pass.
