Weight capacities for 25' six sleepers ? (Safari/CCD)

The Airstream site lists the weight capacities of the 25' Safari six sleeper and the 25' CCD, both as 596 lbs. That seems REALLY low to me, and out of proportion with other trailers of that length, or around that length...

Does that seem right?

That number is wrong. I have a 2003 Safari 25 SS - I don't have ready access to the trailer right now, but the sticker on the inside of the wardrobe door tells the actual empty weight. IIRC on my heavily optioned unit the empty weight is around 4,900 lbs, and the gross weight is 6,300, for a usefull load of 1,400 lbs. From this you should subtract the weight of LP gas (~60 lbs) and water (39 gal * 7 = 273) for a net of 1,067 lbs.

Here is an old site, but with more accurate numbers than you had seen.

That seems much more reasonable! It's amazing to me that the Airstream site is so haphazard about stuff like that

Not to throw a damper on things, but the information on the referenced site might be dated. The picture is certainly not a 2003 Safari as it has the wooden seats (the new ones are fabric covered plastic.

Next time I am at the trailer I will check the weights.

Here's where the cargo weight comes from:

Code:
5270 empty trailer weight (including battery(s))
+ 60 propane weight
+374 water (45 gallons including water heater)
+596 cargo weight
----
6300 lb GVWR

Even that is great news, I was thinking the water weight would come out of the 596... wouldn't have left much for tofu and beer
