Website is slow now

I'm running a 2012 Dell Inspiron laptop, I-3 processor and 3 GM of ram with WIN7 for the OS. I have a terabyte of HD space on a solid state drive. I use IE and Firefox as browsers. I've used my home wifi with TWC cable ISP and on the road with the Verizon Ellipses Jetpack.

I don't get the popups, I don't see the ads except on the main page and between posts and the pages load very fast. Right now, I'm not seeing any ads. If I'm not logged in I get one popup until I log in and then I don't see it anymore.

Strange. I see no popups, no videos, and only the few sidebar ads on the right. I'm always logged in. Using Chrome. I haven't noticed any reduction in forum loading speed.

Here is a GREAT link that tells you how to stop all of that auto-play crap on ANY website...with easy to understand instructions for disabling that horrific crap on Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.

Do what it says...it WORKS. And no more maddening crap automatically playing on every page.

Go to www.aboutads and click on the consumer tab. Following the instructions, this site will notify all the advertisers (apprx 99% participate in this code of conduct) to remove you from solicitation. It takes about three minutes, and costs nothing. Works like a champ to prevent page slowdown due to long scripted pops and animated advertising.
