WBCCI membership

I am not certain if this is the correct place to post this question...My wife and I recently became the happy owners of an Airstream (25' Classic, 2002) and have decided to "expand our horizons" by getting out of the contiguous US...

Does WBCCI do caravans to various destinations (other than US rallies and jamborees) outside the US--like Mexico and Alaska?

We are not into "restoration" yet...I hope and don't own, as you can see, a vintage AS.

We would definitely like to travel with Airstream types (does this sound elitist? ) Does WBCCI organize Mexico and Alaska caravans?

Sorry it took so long to get to the basic question.

Doesn't sound elitist

Yes and No.

WBCCI does a lot of caravans to and rallies in Alaska and Canada, but not many to Mexico.

Airstream Corporate also offers caravans. I have a good friend in WBCCI who works on the corporate caravans, and he has gone to both Mexico and Alaska many times for them.

Yes!

WBCCI organizes rallys to both Canada and Mexico and also overseas.

Take advantage of your free WBCCI membership thru 2003 and you will real all about the caravans in the Blue Beret. All you need for the free WBCCI membership is a copy of the yeallow sheet that comes with a new trailer or a bill of sale for a used one.

Phone numbers for WBCCI are in the link, below:

Thank you for the reply. I didn't mean to make a bad joke about elitist...but I would prefer to travel with those that have as much(or more) to lose than I... We have heard some real terrorizing tales.

There are also a number of benifits of going on an Airstream/WBCCI sponsored caravan.

1. The caravan will cost you less. Most caravans are run by a WBCCI trained leader who does it for the fun and friendships that they will develop. Even the Airstream sponsored ones are usally at break even as I undertand it.

2. On many of the Alaska and Mexico caravans you will have one member of the group who is an Airstream certified mechanic, along with most of the parts that will be necessary to fix problems as they arise on your long journey.

3. Because of item number one you will get to see sights and attractions that some of the other caravans may not go to because it does not profit from them (this is MY opinion after traveling in other countries).

4. I have yet to meet someone that went on a WBCCI Caravan that did not like it.

Try a short 1-2 week one in the US and see how you like it. There are many to choose from.
