Washing the A/S

Since this is our first a/s we have a questions about washing the exterior. Ike is wondering if there is a special product used in the wash water and what you use to do the actual washing? (ie: rv brush w/extendo and hose hook up etc.) The coach was re-coated at the factory.

Many Thanx,

suz

Suz,

Here is a thread I started last July. Lots of info on the topic.

http://www.airforums.com/forum...t=wash+trailer

In summary I recommend Armorall Car Wash. It contains no ammonia products and no petroleum products, both which are enemies to the finishes on A/S units.

I use a telescopic brush that has a large soft head. Extended its as tall as the trailer. I purchased mine at Camping World a couple of years ago. It works great.

Regards,

Jack

Thank you Jack. I knew there was something on the subject - just needed a shove in the right direction

Jacks post is the real deal. I have washed and waxed Bambi 3 x since Feb 17.

The darn Twinkie gleams.

Use Armor All Car Wash and Walburnize and life will be great for you A/S.

Lightbulb Worth repeating

Suz

It's worth posting a warning:

"Always wash your A/S in the shade and, on a cool day."

Most nearly, everyone knows this but. Sometimes we (myself included) slip up and, try to take advantage of a nice day for working on the unit.

I just got back from the Region 8 rally in Columbia Mo. I got a lot of nice comments about the appearance of the Safari. A few folks were suprised that I'm into my third year. They though I just bought the trailer new in 2003.

I am putting a Zip-Dee on the street side for additional shade in a few days and if things work out I'll be towing the Safari up to the Midwest Rally with a new pewter metalic 3/4 ton GMC Savana van. Lots of towing capacity, will be able to handle up to 9,900 lbs....enough to graduate to one of the Safari's big brothers in the future.
