WARNING REF: E-Bay parts
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
We have noticed that many times items advertised for sale on e-bay are not really as described or are flat out right misrepresentations.
Currently an entrance door is on sale that says it came from a 1976 trailer. NOT TRUE!!! Notice that it has a single hinge. The last year that a single hinge was used was 1972. If the door is perfect, why would someone be selling it especially without the KT lock? Thats the lock that the factory sells for $546.06.
We also have a 1974 31 foot trailer in our shop that a lady and an attorney bought on e-bay. It was represented as being in good condition, with a few scratches. An exception was made about the household type refrigerator.
The trailer was shipped to us for an "safety inspection." The incomplete inspection has aleady surpassed $20,000.00 to put the trailer back to original condition. The rear axle with 12 inch brakes must be replaced. The front axle has a splined shaft with a torsion arm 1 1/2 inch shorter than the original which causes the front tires to almost hit the wheel well. Additionally, that axle also has 10 inch, yes 10 inch brakes, with the wires cut off. Tow correctly and safely that way? Not a chance!!!!
The interior was painted all white, slopped all over, with a roller, without sanding the vinyl. Tambour doors were painted and have been ruined because they will not turn in the spirals. The faucets are now completely white. The center bath shower is also completely white, with the paint peeling off the plastic. Some of the brown moldings are now partially white. Closet door hinges painted white, etc. Some drape tracks are missing. Some of the non airstream curtains are missing. Break away switch removed. All the appliances are shot. Damage to many areas of the exterior. Differet kinds of tires. Wrong door gasket. Window gaskets shot. Two of the tree Zip Dee awnings are torn. Rear end separation, big time. The list goes on and on.
The seller refuses to take the coach back.
The buyers paid $6000.00.
Law suit is already in the mill.
The owners will sell it like it is, real cheap. If someone wants to make an offer, let us know and we will give you the owners phone number via PM.
The moral of this story is "BEWARE." Crooks are on e-bay, big time.
