Wanderlust - Airstream at 75

Has anyone picked up this book from Airstream yet? It's a little pricey. I'd be interested in a review before I order one.

Wanderlust - Airstream at 75

Our 75th Anniversary book is jam packed with vintage photos, history, company time line, and much, much more. Over 175+ pages in a hardbound cover. Author: Russ Banham

Post I just ordered it today!

Read the article about the Author in the latest Airstream Life - sounds like it will be a great addition to my Airstream library.

It's a very well done book. Exceptionally complete. I think it will be the definitive Airstream history for many years to come. Well worth the price IMHO. Great photography, and I'm not saying that just because the magazine contributed several of the shots!

Agreed, it is excellent

I have read it cover to cover twice. Lots of details about Airstream history that I have found nowhere else. It is a great addition to my library.

Wanderlust

Read through for the first time last night. Good company history with some details I had never heard. Great book and worth the investment. We did not buy the Deluxe edition...

I am planning to go through and thorogly digest the photos which are excellent.

Picked mine up at International...I've started having the folks depicted inside, that we meet along our travels, autograph their pictures. Fun!

It's Fantastic!

I've seen many of the older photos in other publications but that being said this book is worth every penny. I cannot believe how much I've learned in just the hour I've been reading it.

Also loved seeing a picture taken at the 2004 Region 1 Rally of the "Top Dog" mobile grill with some of the kids who attended standing in front of it. I remember seeing this shot being taken, and I've got lots of pictures of it myself.

I'll be ordering a second copy today, I want an addional one to keep in "The Tube" for rain days.

I called Airstream on Monday about my order which was placed at the end of July. They confirmed that my order was backordered, but that they expected to have more books to ship this week. I hope it's true!

Rich people invest in stocks. Rednecks invest in commemorative plates. Right over here are the "heros of Nascar" series....

It's worth it if you want it enough. Will you get $100 worth of enjoyment out of it or will you have to choose between that and a new water heater.... think cold showers in November and decide.

i ordered mine minutes after airstream sent me an email announcing availability. it showed up two days later. this weekend i was reading through it for the umteenth time and the binding let go. the pages separated from the spine and all the pages fell in my lap.

i spoke with airstream on monday and they said some of the binding were defective and i wasn't the first to call. they assured me UPS would be here to pick up the broken book and they let me upgrade to the limited addition as long as i paid the difference.

i think the bad bindings are what may be holding up availability.

I was just sitting here wondering what to do about my copy. I was reading it while waiting for my computer to reboot and realized that it was coming apart.

I bought mine at the International and it has deteriorated every time I have picked it up since. The only thing holding it together are the blue sheets inside each cover.

You know, people of all income levels collect all kinds of things. I,m sure there are people with realitive low incomes who invest in stocks and by the looks of the motor homes at Nasar races, some wealthy people seem to like it.Taste isn't defined by your education , income level or what you collect.

Yep, Mine Too

Bummer. I'll be contacting Airstream for a replacement copy.

I need to hang on to the copy I have until after the Region One Rally next week as I want to show some of the attendees their pictures that have been published in the book. I wanted them to sign their photos too, oh well.

Just got an email from Airstream.
Airstream Store only ships to US Adresses...
Very global thinking...

So we can only dream of the book until we get an airplane ticket to pick it up in the US...

damn...
