Talking Waiting for delivery today...

I feel like an expectant father... pacing, daydreaming, distracted, anxious, HECK, I'M STRESSED!!!!

Our 22' CCD is in New Mexico enroute to us from our Los Angeles dealer. It's due here within the hour... .... .... .... .... (those are my fingers tapping) .... the driver called at 9AM and he was 300 miles out... It's windy today. May have to slow down...

You know the feelings; Will I be happy? Let down? Buyer's remorse? Ecstatic? I'll let you know later.

The phone rings and I jump. Don't call! I need to keep the line open!

Most of you know the feeling.

This forum has been a fantastic source of info and insight.

Thanks for getting me this far!

Your driver called again ...

... but he dialed the wrong number and got me. I told him to take a left toward Vermont and drop it off here. I promised him a quick $100 for his extra trouble.

I'll let you know how much I like that new 19 CCD!!!

PS: You know I'm teasing you out of jealousy ... you lucky dog!

X.

I'm drinking very heavily for you right now (water).....very exciting. Ours is due at Paul Sherry in Ohio at the end of this month, very early May.
Please let us know how it goes, when you finally regain consciousness.

Love and kisses.

Jonathan

Thanks for all the kind words of support!

Delivery update: Driver just called from Albuquerque. One hour away. Will be here around 5PM. Was delayed because of a 30 car pile-up with fatalities on I40 outside ABQ. Those highways can be dangerous! Use care all!

Yay.

Good luck. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of insisting your dealer not only give you a complete indoctrination of the trailer, but have them test out everything in your presence. Fill the water tanks, run the pumps, hook up the cable tv and phone, or at least do not sign off on anything that says the trailer was delivered w/o problems if you have not. Take the time to get on a ladder and check out the roof as well. You don't want to be the stuck-ee.

I've used the MIA acronym for my "quest" items that are Missing In Airstream...I'll bet that describes Xray as well!

You might want to videotape the walk through! My wife and I only remembered about 20% of what we were told about our new unit! Putting up the ZipDee awning for the 1st time was a real trip! It looked so easy when he put it up at the dealership. We really struggled with it! Had the water heater on during the trip home from our first outing. Only when I was parking the unit in storage did I hear the hissing from the heater, telling me something was still on! There's lots to remember for 1st time users. I wish A/S would give new owners a video tape of things not to forget to do!

I agree Shari!

Funny, X is still missing! I bet he's tied himself to the dinette...either that or still cleaning up the drool that Argosy20 pointed out.

I bet there is one beyond happy camper in New Mexico today!

Hope we hear from him soon with some pic of both VW and Airstream.
