By "mini-trailers" do you mean scale models?

Babycakes ~

Check out the link that smily posted above. You will find lots of very helpful information on that site.

The models you would most likely be interested in are:

Wee Winds, Crusettes, Bubbles & Bambis. All are all 16' or less. These little ones seem to be very collectable and usually sell very quickly when they do come up for sale....and often times for a premium price, especially if they have been restored. The Caravels, Pacers & Bambi II's are all 17' and GlobeTrotters, Travelers, Wanders & TraileWinds are still small, being 18'-21' depending on the year.

Check out the VAC List Classifieds and there are usually a couple there each month. Another place to find them is ebay...right now there is a '68 Caravel on ebay that closes on Dec. 15th. The bidding right now is at $3,500 but expect it to surge in the last hour or so.

Good luck with your search!

Shari

Thank you

All of the people who have been so kind to try to help me in my dilemma of finding a vintage airstream mini trailer are much appreciated. The only thing that is wrong is all i have found are smaller trailers but not the mini trailer variety I have been looking for. I take it they are not very popular because I have not been able to find one single mini trailer (see the mini trailers I am looking for are vintage (very small) trailers the size of like an escort car ) The only airstream trailers I have found at minimum are 15 ' or above and those are not mini trailers. I am sorry if i come off desperate but I am going crazy trying to find "Minitrailers" i do not know how to describe them any more than that but they are the compact version of regular sized airstream trailers. Please please if anyone knows what i am talking about please email me at selahcross@aol.com do not hestitate to pass on this post to anyone you know of that knows about only vintage minitrailers.

Do they really exist?

Perhaps Airstream in some earlier era built one or more advertising mineatures. If so, they probably were not functional trailers.

Other than some sort of one-off that some craftsman might have built, I don't know that any such thing exists.

NO i know that airstream built mini trailers because it was on a show on television and I have seen a few airstream mini trailers on the web but they were already taken but not for sale. People who know airstreams no the type i am talking about. I think they maybe called wee winds or small bambis ?

teardrop?

You aren't talking about teardrop trailers where the rear opens out, are you? They can be made of aluminum and polished. I've been looking at old trailers for about 3 years now and am lost to what you are talking about too. Try going to Vintage-vacations.com and look at the links and see what you can find there, it must be an old SOB you're thinking of.

Actually, there was a Tear Drop at the Estes Park VAC Rally this summer...cute!

Basically, it's just a rolling bed on the inside ~
