Vintage Advantage Newsletter???

Does anyone know if the WBCCI Vintage Advantage newsletter is still being published?
I saw a friendís copy, liked it, and sent in my $20. check along with their website subscription form. A newsletter arrived the first of Sept. and as I eagerly read it I noticed the date said: Q1, 2002 - Issue #1. It appears the issue I received is almost a year old. I was expecting a more recent issue, since the subscrption form stated it was quarterly. I emailed the membership chairman two weeks ago asking if the issue I received was the most current but have not yet heard back. I guess Iím wondering if I will see any more newsletters and, if the newsletter is no longer being published, why are subscriptions still being promoted on their website? If the newsletters are not being published then I wonder what my $20. got used for? I hope there will be more newsletters coming because my ďvintageĒ issue looks well done and Iím always interested in learning more about vintage Airstreams.

Yes, it's still published...but it only comes out quarterly...

Be patient...it'll be worth the wait!

I was expecting the latest issue

Hi Shari:
The issue I just received was dated Q1- 2002. If they published quarterly were there issues for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter of 2002 as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters of this year? We're almost to the 4th qtr. of '03 so based on the date of the issue I received, I was thinking they could be 5 or 6 issues behind. I had presumed that with the start of my subscription (Sept. '03) I would have received the most current issue.

They may not have had "extras" of the current issue, so figured "something was better than nothing..." I don't know, just a thought.

The last issue we received was probably in early July, so another one should be coming soon. I'll let you know when I receive ours so you will then know when to expect yours. If one isn't received, then you may have a problem...in the meantime, patience my friend ~

Oh, I've got lots of patience. It comes in handy as the owner of a 36 year old Airstream. I also understand people don't answer emails for one reason or another, which was the case when I inquired to the newsletter email address with my questions. I do appreciate your quick replys. Now I know the newsletter is still being published. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next one.

On thing I have discovered about Airstreamers when trying to enquire about WBCCI issues or Ralleys is that they are hard to get a hold of. Probably because they're on the road! One ralley I wanted to go to, I called and left a message and got a call back about two weeks later, after I had pretty much given up. Sure enough she'd just got back from a trip.

My only question about the VAC is why they don't use a modern user-friendly forum like this board does? I can't stand the old-fashioned email lists that fill my mailbox, and it's so easy to read and respond to things on this forum. I use a Bronco board that uses this same style forum, so I know it's available to them. I did try to suscribe to the VAC email list but it didn't take for some reason.

Hey, wait a minute, I just got volume 10, Q2, 2003 Issue #2 a couple weeks ago? My first issue, what's up with that? Though I'm excited to hear there's another one coming soon.

BTW, Shari, can you look back at Q2, Issue 2 and tell me if you know what the picture on pg 22 is of? It almost looks too nice to be a trailer? Is that a custom job, or were some of them that fancy back in the day?

Steph ~

You probably got the latest copy as soon as your registration was received, even though it had been out for awhile.

With regards to the photo in question, I think that issue is in our trailer, if you can scan it and either post it here or PM it to me, I'll see if I can help identify what you're looking at.

Sorry I'm not of more help ~

Shari

We paid our dues the first of October and the check cleared our bank in mid-November. Be lucky you received anything. Other than knowing our check was deposited, we have had no contact of any kind from our e-mails or phone calls. Guess we will have to more patient.
Being on the road used to work as an excuse, but more and more truckstops and campgrounds have internet hookups.
There is also mobile applications for internet---Motosat. Works very well on our s.o.b. motorhome.

That's funny. We were surprised to receive an issue because they hadn't cashed our check yet. We were starting to think they must have been one of those clubs that's so 'flush' they aren't even in a hurry to deposit money!

Shari, I'll see if I can scan it and put it up tomorrow.
