VIN number

We are newbies with a vintage airstream 1967 Sovereign International and would like to know if anyone can tell us what the series of letters and numbers actually mean in the VIN number and where they are located.

The VIN number on ours is very hard to read if that's what this series of numbers/letters are. It is to the right of the door where the Airstream plate is.
