I don't know if I should say, but I was one of those cooks in the U.S. Army. One time during our field training the immersion burner ( used to heat water, etc ) was causing smoke & the old mess sarge came up to me & said that when that would happen in Korea, the first shell would be close, but the second one would come down the pipe. Lots of good men died because of carelessness. One of those strange things that stick with you for no reason. My greatest respect & appreciation to those who serve & have served & to those who gave thier all. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Best,

US Army 1958 - 61. Spent 2 years in Bad Kissingen, Germany in 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment patrolling the East/West German border. Was glad to see the Berlin Wall taken down.
God bless our service men and women in Iraq and other places fighting terrorists.

Thank you veterans!! We really appreciate your contribution.
Nothing to report here but my father was a paratrooper in Korea and I had an uncle in Vietnam.
As for me, sorry but the the closest I have been to the service was registering for Selective Service back in the early 80's.

Pahaska,
Did you train with the legendary Don Ho? He was a fighter pilot before becoming famous singing Tiny Bubbles. He told me he trained in Texas too.
