Wow!

What a small world! I am absolutely certain we crossed paths at one time. I think I even have some photos from then I am going to have to dig out.

Yes, we definitely need to "tell some lies" and hopefully we will cross paths. We are in St. Lou, so if you're heading through the midwest, we will meet up, no plans to head through Georgia, but you never know!

(Private Dye in 1990 - did the evening/night classes - remember running the air strip after class at 11:00pm!)

PS - we've come across some of your posts before and always chuckled at your signature but Mike thought you may need to add duct tape too. lol

Damn tired and ready to retire in five years!

Frederic
Well, that was four years ago. I can add that I am now an instructor supervisor at Goodfellow Air Force Base...I know, what's an Army guy doing on an Air Force installation...Still damn tired, but I was promoted to Sergeant First Class/E-7 in April, so instead of one year left to retirement, I have 2.5 years left...have to keep the rank three years, if you want to retire with it!

I was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX (AKA Hell on Earth) for six months while attending school. No hills, so at 0440 when the sun hits the horizon, you are UP. Did PT at 0330 since it was too hot to do it after than.

That was tiring.

Got to work this morning to find out that we lost a soldier Friday evening, on his way to San Antonio. No official word yet on what caused the crash, but his car collided with an 18-wheeler. The other two soldiers in the car walked away with broken ribs and contusions. He suffered brain trauma and bled out...19 years old. It's a shame, because he was a great student, well on his way to being a great analyst. Funeral is this Thursday.

Mark,

His body has already been flown to somewhere in California, which is where the funeral will take place. He will be cremated and his mother, a retired AF officer, will then take him with her back to Dayton, OH. The mother wanted this taken care of as quickly as possible.

We found out today that there is a possibilty that he was either texting or reading a text, while driving, and quite possibly swerved into the tractor trailer's fuel tank.

Veterans Cemetary in Randolph, VT August of 09.
Visiting my Grandmother's Grave

I had to show her the new (To us) Airstream.
The 1966 Tradewind that I got from her is out of commission because of a tree falling on it this past winter.
