Don't imagine this lowely E-5 from Fort Lost in the Woods will ever get down to Bliss, but I hit TDY to Fort Hood in September....pretty far, but it IS an 08, and I know I won't be seeing too many around here.

Steve,

I spent a few days last fall at Ft Leonard wood. I had the privlege of being the guest speaker for my son's BCT graduation. It had changed a bit since 1986 when I went through OSUT there........

You're right......this IS a good drive from Ft Hood. I've spent the past 2 days crossing Texas from what could only be the longest route, Beaumont to El Paso on Rt 10. But please.....stop by if you can.

A quick recon today of the park and there are 2 other AS here!

Mike

Marge and me

Currently an Army Nurse, served in Kuwait at the beginning of this war. Spent time caring for the wounded at "Wally World" (affectionate name to avoid search engines). Currently on active duty in Washington state, 3 years to retire should I choose. But here is the rub, as an Army RN, it is a privalege to care for the patients and their family who are willing to risk what they risk. God bless the Infantry and all those who have served now, before and after me .

This photo is my mother, she died at 83, the same day as Katrina. My dad served 4 years in Burma while she held down the fort, two sons have deployed to war zone. It made her supremely happy to see her "boy"make good.

Our '68 Overlander cost more new than I made that year!

PS "The Wall That Heals", the 250' replica of the VN wall will be in Swannanoa, NC, just east of Asheville, NC on Sept 5-8, 2007. If you happen to be cruisin' down I-40 it is just a short jump off to see it. I am not affiliated with it in any way other than with my comrades whose names are on it.
Welcome Home to all vets.
