TX Vanity Plates

Does anyone know how to obtain TX vanity plates for AS trailers? Getting’ stuck on TX state website. Thanks!

In the morning contact your local county tax assessor office for guidance. They will let you know the steps in acquiring a personalized license plate. Good luck

Here’s what happens: county assessor’s office sends you to MyPlates site which states the following regarding vehicles which can be issued personalized license plates:

Trailers (light utility and enclosed, boat, non-commercial use, and trailers whose main purpose is hauling but have minimal living quarters, [but not house, camper, travel or hybrid type trailers)

I know folks have TX personalized plates, but have not been able to figure out how.

Any other ideas/processes from folks? Thanks.

I have a Texas State Parks plate on my trailer. I didn’t personalize it, but the option was available. I just checked the TXDMV site and MyPlates site and didn’t see the restrictions you mention. I’d ask your county tax assessor office specifically about personalized plates on a travel trailer.

My personalized name is on a specialty plate, the TPWD horned lizard. If I recall correctly, it was not originally ordered thru myplate, but thru the specialty plate process. I will also mention it was originally ordered over 10 years ago so things may have changed.

Hey there, we have a vanity plate on our TX AS. It had too many letters for the regular plates so we had to go to myplate. We got the plate for 5 years which was an option. Not the least expensive option but it’s done. MyPlates does have a lot of plate options. We live in Dallas county and I only had to go downtown to pick it up when it was ready and turn in the dealer plates they gave us.
