TV ad with Airstream

Have you seen the new Special K Nourish commercial? Has a repurposed airstream for serving with what looks to be decals on the skin.

Airstreams in Ads

I may be alone in thinking this, but I doubt it.

It seems to me that every time time I look at the TV, I see a ad with an Airstream in it.

Has anyone else made this observation?

I am curious whether Airstream is doing a great job getting their trailers in ads, or if the ad agencies deliberately seeking them out.

Any ideas?

If there is already a thread on this specific subject, please let me know.

Wink

I really doubt if JC has an ad liaison, the icon mystique is enough to keep them in the spotlight.

I still get a kick out of seeing the one where the vacationing couple change TV's at the end of the commercial.....come to think maybe JC does have a thumb in the
pudding.

Bob, I think you pay too close attention to ads. I can't believe you noticed that. I think what actually happened is they parked under a tree full of starlings, and when they woke up in the morning their red SUV was white.

There's one for an alternative drug to warferin (rat poison/blood thinner)... Can't even remember what the drug is... but the happy man and wife drive off into the sunset towing an Airstream.

Ken,

We don't really watch a lot of tv, so what we do watch we pay attention too.

It's mostly local news, Bloomberg news, and that channel that broadcasts "Downtown Arby's."

It's a magic Airstream in that commercial. It looks like a 23' but has a bed like a 27'. They are doing a great job getting their Trailers placed in ads but advertising people probably love the style of them.

I doubt it's product placement. Airstreams are leading and enduring American icons spanning generations and decades. I can't think of too many of those (Webers and Zippos come to mind). It tickles me no end to have one - like returning to native soil after so many years of involvement with Porsches.

Yes, we love the Airstream's classic exterior style combined with the modern interior design aesthetics of CCD. Absolutely up to date, and absolutely an icon, both at the same time. Wonderful!
