The neighbors at Hueco Tanks are freindly but I am convinced one of them is the theif. Given the remoteness of the place, you would have to live there to be going back in there.

At this point, I'm pretty depressed about losing my truck, car and trailer and are sure they've been cut up and sold for scrap (because they came back and cleaned the lot of any loose metal).

It's really too bad because it is a beautiful area to have a small cabin or trailer to use to "get away for a awhile".
One tip for Blimp:
I read on Craigslist that two men that lived on the "4500 block of Snowqualmie Rd." were just arrested trying to sell a stolen quad to an undercover officer. I plan on riding out there and looking for some of the non metal items that were inside my truck. Maybe this is the same people or gang of thieves.

Snowqualmie (yea, like in the TV show "Twin Peaks") is on the right off Montana as you drive from El Paso to Hueco Tanks. I'll look for your trailer too.

After reading all this, I realize how truly blessed we are. We have lived on a dirt road in a rural area for over 20 years and nothing has ever been stolen. Thankfully we have good neighbors.

fiat128, i agree, this is likely an 'inside job' from the valley. while some neighbors are great, others are not. If it is not directly someone in the valley that took it, i think someone in the valley tipped off the thieving b*stards that my trailer was vacant for a bit. Good luck with your search and please report back.

I know this is an old thread but I just saw this Craigslist ad and someone selling an Airstream cheap with one busted window and no title just raises my suspicion alot.

Fiat, that's silly. The seller clearly states it's not stolen.

Of course the seller would have noted that it was "found, abandoned, in a locked storage compound". Truth in advertising - everyone practices it. You hear it all the time being advertised - Practice Safe text.
