This is a great thread!

After seeing and reading many names for our A/S's this thread has helped me decide what to name mine. My boys saw an old classic Winnebago with the name 'Bogie' on the rear, and they thought that should be ours too, especially since one of their late cats was named that. But I wanted something original. Just a few minutes ago I decided to name it after my wonderful sister, a cancer survivor. Her name is now Elizabeth, Lizzie or Liz for short. It was legally changed to that when she turned 18 because she didn't like...no, she loathed her real name she received at birth from our mom. It will be our little secret. It is perfect for my baby...AGNES.

We named our first Airstream Motorhome "Big Girl" and that name served her aptly. This, our second Classic Airstream has been dubbed "Silver Belle", or just "Belle" for short. Both names have been very helpful with contacts.

We call ours "Nessie"

in honor of our Scottish ancestry, and because she seems like a monster sometimes.

We are getting a vanity plate for the AS with his (her??) name - Dino. We christened him Dino because while we were towing him home, our youngest daugher (age 6) was being her typically silly self and said it looked like we had a big silver dinosaur following us. So the name stuck.

We call our 22’ AS International Asgard. The Norse Vikings believed Asgard was heaven. It is where slain warriors and the Norse Gods resided and the location of Valhalla. Our AS is our little slice of heaven.

Our 76 Argosy Motorhome was named Basher. This was a name that was self selected by the unit. Our first big trip out we hit a few construction barrells with it, on a trip later in the year it was construction cones. No real damage to the coach, but the name stuck.

Our A/S is named Airabelle, or Airabella depending on which family member you ask :-)

We fly hot air balloons and I wanted to tie in the whole "AIR" thing, you know, Airstreams and flying, etc., so I picked Airabelle. My folks never manage to get names right, so they call her Airabella.

My alternate name for her I found in a book on vintage trailers, someone who made one of the early aluminum beasts thought it looked like a blimp and called it "Graf Zip-a-Long". It's perfect for us so I may just change the name altogether since we can't seem to agree on Airabelle! (Would be Zippy for short of course) I seem to recall someone else here has a trailer named Airabelle so maybe we should just let them use it Unless someone has a better "Air" name for me, I can't come up with another one but am open to suggestions.

Love seeing everyone's pet names for A/S's here, I have to agree that the Drag&Fly is the best one yet!

I just knew that something would "trigger" a name for our AS on the way home with her. The first night we spent in the AS we noticed all the "Lightening Bugs " that were flying around the RV park. We spent time just enjoying them! We had not seen Lightening Bugs in years!

So the name of our AS - Lightening Bug

I'm sure this name isn't original, but on our long 900 mile trip home with our new trailer, my wife and I started thinking about movies that had travel trailers in them and of course the first one we both thought of was "The Long Long Trailer" starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Therefore we immediately named our trailer "Luci"

Being from Texas the truck pulling Luci is named "Bubba".

My wife and I call our 16' CCD the Escape Pod or The Pod. It's such a small and efficient capsule. It's so Bond like, the whole 60's future Mod thing.

Great wit here..

I named my Safari "Rubyacht" to play on the Land Yacht, "she's a gem" and famed Islamic poet Omar Khayyam's poem of the same name. I redid the entire interior Moroccan. It's a whole N. African thing.

I'm new to this site/forum, but am inspired to name our 1974 Overlander. Her name is now Aurora! Thanks to all of you for the inspiration.

Don from east texas,
After admiring your puller at the Rocky Mtn. rally, I always thought she should be called Pumpkin in honor of her glorious color. That is quite a rig. What do you think?

Wink

We just acquired our Excella 25 after owning a "flimsy" Nomad Weekender for 12 years. In the California hispanic tradition, that was named Casa de Cardboard, in honor of imitation wood paneling and doors that would fall off. We tried "Casa de Beercan" or "Casa de Lata de Cerveza" but were shouted down by family, so after a short competition among family members, our son offered "Condoluminum" and it stuck... Runners up included "The Silver Bucket", Casa de Coors, and Titanium Twinkie..

Pumpkin is the name given to ALL the rigs on the road by Schnieder Truck ---- so I want to stay away from that one <g>.. Think it will be "Mountain Ghost" --- sure does a GREAT job in the mountains.
